Battle of the conographs

Went in to my AD today

Went to look at the white dial daytona, i cant say anything about the daytona that you guys do not already know. Its a timeless classic a true beauty.

But something else caught my eye aswell. An omega grey side of the moon. I was blown away!!!!

It is such a beauty!!!!!!

44mil but fit was perfect

Dial is amazing - platinum i think

And the leather strap is great too!

My mind is saying daytona but my heart is saying omega

I have never liked omegas and tbh there is not much in their range that excites me but this GSOFM stole my heart!!!

Opinions please

Ps could acheive 15/20% dicsount from an AD on the omega but none on the Daytona.

Pics to follow

Just checked some wristpics online, looks stunning on a larger wrist!! But the small wrist pics give it a blown look.. what is your wrist.

Very pretty watch, the case gives off a bit of RO vibe.. I'd wear it :)

Daytona now, then pick up a used grey side in a year or 2 for half the price. #winning

I'd say Daytona for it being such a classic and resale value. If you get a GSOTM at a good price and your heart leads you that way, go with your heart.

I love the dark side but at 12k US for an Omega was crazy. Tons of amazing tech in the watch but depreciation is big. You can buy a used one for sub 7k US now. I would not buy new. You will loose at least 50% from retail on a trade in or a sale. Figure selling for 5500 to 6k if you ever had to. Daytona will hold value better.

From your post I think you'd be happier with the omega. I'd personally get Daytona though

Sounds like you favor the Omega so I say go for it

Ignore me and everyone else saying GET THE DAYTONA!!!!

Although I have both I much prefer the Daytona if only one

You know what guys
I would usually follow my mind and thinking about resale would steer me to the daytona no doubt. But to my eye, visually the omega is so much nicer

If the omega had a crown on it, would you guys feel differentl about the watch?

Honest opinions

Grey side for £6750 (about 20% off) or daytona for £7950

Leaving money out of the equation.
Watch for watch, are you a strap or bracelet guy?

116520 = bracelet
GSOM = strap with lots of options

Tbh i love them both

But i feel super inclined to the omega

Plus the thought of several straps come to mind (bloody expensive OEM ones but they are lovely)

I've never considered resale in a watch purchase. Its nice if they hold value, but watches are all terrible investments.

I like the GSOTM better than the Daytona personally, and if you do too.... Buy it!

It is a hard choice, they are both great!

The price in the UK seems a bit high. In other European countries the official price is 10,300 EUR or 11,300 CHF, which is around 7,400GBP. And with 20% off, it works out at just under 6,000GBP. Have you considered getting from a grey dealer?

Sal you can only choose what's right for you but honestly if you pick that over a Daytona it's a big mistake as its not even in same league. I'm going to be quite blunt and straight only because I want you to make the right decision so don't take any offence if I'm quite sharp as I'm actually trying to help you. Although the preference is yours but I couldn't steer you to the omega in all honestly and feel you should take the Daytona over it or infact many other Rolex sports watches over that omega. I don't dislike the omega but it's not comparable and the price is astronomical also.
The Daytona will be timeless and retain always 90% of its value vs 40% probably for the omega which will never win any design awards. Nor will it ever by you or your friends family colleagues ever be seen the same way as the Rolex Daytona and also finally that piece of crap is made from ceramic good luck to you if you drop it on the floor you'll end up with something like this below - sorry for being straight n harsh but I don't want you screwing this decision up.

Why not get a preowned GSOTM? Let someone else absorb the depreciation.

I usually would but you are right watches are not investments

hence why I think i want the omega - its just a beast plus at 20% discount new I am swayed
