Speedmaster Pro - Reference# changes in 2014

I'm sorry if this has already been discussed* but why did Omega change the 3750.50 (/3753) to the new reference #s (311.30.42.30.01.005/006) back in 2014?

More importantly, what has changed between the references, apart from the new box / NATO-style strap and loupe package? As far as I can tell, same mvmt / crystal / case / caseback... .

*I searched both the ref# and "Baselworld 2014" but still came up empty

Does the new ref model have the new bracelet with screws instead of pin and collars. Could that be it?

Yep - The only differences are the bracelet links (screws instead of pins) and the new box. Watch head itself is the same.

^Thank you gents!

I was considering a new one but didn't want to lose out on anything. I certainly would not miss Omega's "red-flake" boxes...

Sounds like for an "older gen" Pro you'll need to go back to the end of the 90s(?) for Tritium dial/hands...
...and back to '96 for an 861/863 (gilt movements ... and one less jewel) and then to ~1970 for the Chronograph's break-lever change from steel to delryn and then to 1968 for the 321 and then to...
