Blue Gmt Bezel Insert in Abu Dabi ?

I read ,recently, on this forum that someone had sourced a Blue bezel
inset in Abu Dabi . Would someone please tell me..please be patient with
a registered techno-moron...are the sizes the same for all Gmt,s ? I have
a 1675 circa 1967 . The reason I ask is that I have a friend returning from
there in the near future and I could have them pick one up for me. Thanks
in advance for any help.

No, they are not all the same. You need to make sure that you get an insert for an acrylic crystal GMT and not the later Sapphire GMT's.

I have a friend who works there and he popped around to the AD for me who says he didnt have any. Perhaps there are more than one AD in Abu Dhabi?

The AD was Khoory something or other.

A blue GMT bezel - are those really genuine? Sounds aftermarket to me.

They were actually made for the military and when the contract expired were given to AD's in Abu Dhabi for the local market. Or so I read somewhere!

Do a google search for Arabic Crest GMT and you will see that they all have blue inserts.

If you find a blue insert for a modern sapphire it will be aftermarket. The only blue inserts that were used, to my knowledge, were used on 1675s in the 70's.

Rasool Khoory is the only AD in Abu Dhabi. There's a few branches but no blue bezel.
I visited them last week, they don't sell any spare parts and don't have blue bezels.
