Seamaster 300m choices

Ok,

Forgive in advance but this may be somewhat long winded.

I’ve been giving a lot of thought into taking the dive into Omega.

Currently have a few Rolex watches (Milgauss, Rootbeer GMT, Starbucks sub, Wimbledon)

As such, I have my eye on:
NTTD
Black Black
Black SMP
BLUE SMP

Anyone have any insight they’d offer or perhaps where would you rank these 4?

I love the look of the NTTD, for some reason the only thing in my way is that at times I feel it looks a tough like a BB58 Tudor (similar color scheme)

The black black to me looks beautiful, a tad on the larger side
Black and blue SMP seem the most conservative but also beautiful on there own rights.

Any thoughts, opinions or pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Seems to me you could use a little blue in that fabulous collection of yours.

I'd check out the summer blue 75th if I were you. Also, make sure you try on the bracelet. It's polarizing and many wear the 300m on the OEM rubber. The Seamaster 300m packs a helluva lot of horological value for the money.

I love my 300m (2020 Tokyo Olympics LE), but it's no Sub (nor should it be at 50-60% of the price).

Could I suggest you take a look at the non wave dial Seamaster. It’s a fantastic watch, 41mm instead of the 42mm of the current model. Applied Omega logo and text, red highlights. You will be able to find up a great example for £3k.

I currently own the NTTD, White, Blue, Green and the Black Ceramic 300m's. All are very cool watches and have a place should you decide. If I had to choose one it would be the NTTD. The titanium and the overall fit and appearance just do it for me. I have the mesh bracelet, the NATO and another OEM leather NATO so it is very versatile. Next would be the Ceramic 300m. It is 43.5 mm and on a rubber strap but it has the cool utility of a no date watch and it is a strap monster. Any of the three other 300m's work and the green is the sleeper as the color is not so bright but a very subdued deep green. I like the white dial as it is stark in the way the black ceramic is to black. No bad choices here only choices. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Hi,
I love my NTTD, the lightweight titanium case and the colour scheme. It is not as 'in your face' as my Daytona, Batman or Panerai. I wear my NTTD on a Zealande rubber strap, which fits a treat. Also I have not seen as many being worn as the steel Seamaster.

Rubber a must. I’ve owned a bunch of them - I’d rank

Summer blue
White
Green
Grey
Black
Blue

Not a fan of the mesh at ALL

Can I throw in a few other options to muddy the waters a bit
Currently deciding between these two but heavily leaning towards the ceramic & Sedna Gold.

Seamaster 300m choices

I prefer blue but I already had a black dial Submariner, so that was a factor for me. Plus, I really wanted a blue dial watch anyway.

If you're set on the SMP and you already own and wear several different Rolexes, I strongly recommend looking at the NTTD. It's thinner than most of the SMP line and the titanium makes it much lighter.

Other than the NTTD, I strongly recommend looking at the 75th anniversary, but I see it as less of an every day watch, as the dial isn't what I would describe as subdued.

Other than these two SMPs, I'd also very strongly recommend looking at the heritage seamasters, as they feel much more refined and tend to wear lighter and less chunky than the SMP (although it can be argued that's part of the SMP charm). The 75th anniversary Heritage is one of the best blue dials out there, managing to be unique and refined while staying interesting.

Here’s my choice. It’s in a completely different class in my view.

What is your wrist size?

I have the black SMP with both the black rubber and SS bracelet. It’s a great watch and hard to beat for the price.

Wrist is somewhat on the smaller side, that being said I’m trying to get comfortable with a watch that I’m aware is slightly larger than I have been in the past. Previously, I’ve stayed in the 39mm-41mm but the SM300M are to nice to pass up

I own both the grey dial and the green dial and I wouldn’t overlook either of these. The waves really pop on the grey dial and the green dial can go from looking dark grey or green depending on the light.

For me the "new" green dial and bezel Seamaster is a winner.

The sedna gold is lovely I tried it on recently but ended up going with the regular gold instead, as this was nicer imo compared to the sedna gold.

I'm really torn between these two. They're so different looking and striking in their own unique way that you could almost justify having both.... but not really as having two black ceramic seamasters with the same rubber strap and tang buckle (tang buckle bugs me and is the only reason I don't pull the trigger) just seems too redundant

I really like that new dark blue bond one on mesh posted above!

I have a decent diverse collection overall so in regards to Omega, I was pretty picky with the SMP.
As for me…
I had the ceramic black/titanium. Awesome watch. Traded for black ceramic Sedna gold model…

Blue seems to be the "default" or favored variation of the Seamaster 300M Divers. I recently put mine on the OEM steel mesh bracelet and I found it to be the best combination; for me. The mesh bracelet is finicky in terms of sizing and fit depending on wrist size. The standard mesh fits me perfect; so I lucked out. I would try on a NTTD and decide for yourself.

If you decide to go with a standard production Seamaster 300M Diver to put on mesh, I would get it on the rubber strap so the standard bracelet endlinks don't scratch up the sides of the case when they are exposed on the mesh which does not have endlinks.

The NTTD is amazing. Wore mine today and still think its the best looking out of all the SMP line.
