Water "proofness" for various three Rolex models???
Hi Everyone -
first post here...anyone have insight on recommended water activities I can get away with on my watches: M Series Yachtmaster? I know it's rated at 100M, but is going 50-75M pushing the watch? M Series GMT IIC? Same as above... GMT Master (1966)? Pretty sure I don't even want to get this one anywhere near water In otherwords: can I 'shallow dive' with the Yachtmaster and GMT IIC? And what are your thoughts about the vintage GMT? I'm pretty cautious (paranoid ) about the care of my babies. Don't even wear them in the shower as a watch repairman here in San Francisco once told me in a scolding, thick Swiss accent: "Yooo dooo not vear de swiss classeeks (classics) in de showah..." Thanks! |

Either of the first two would be fine... they are tested to 125% of the rated depth...you do not need to be conservative..
As to the '66 GMT... I would get it pressure tested first; perhaps the gaskets and o-rings replaced... then I wouldn't worry about it too much for light diving and snorkeling... It depends on your comfort level...
