Newbie question - SD43 wait time

Hey everyone,
New forum member here and I'm trying to decide how antsy I should be. I've officially put my name down for a SD43 at a couple of AD's around the Philly area in the last 3 months. I keep getting told that the demand for this watch isn't that big and it's "pretty obtainable".

My question to all of you is, what does that mean? I know some models are still very difficult to obtain from an AD (years and years). What is your translation for "pretty obtainable"? Do I hold my breath for 2 months? 6 months? 1 year?

Appreciate any Rolex owners feedback and thoughts. I know there are many on this forum that have dealt with the same and are in a much longer queue.

There are lots of factors at play here; are you getting the “pretty obtainable” comments from the AD’s, or the “watch community”? My gut says it is quicker to obtain than a Sub. The exact wait time? No way to tell.

Without knowing other details, I’d wait however long it takes to get it from the AD. There’s something about being the first person to own your watch :)

Got mine in a few weeks. Amazing watch.

Declined a Sub in preference to it.

I got a TT SD43 in a mere 30 days at the height of the mania. I'd imagine the SS version would have taken 3-6 months then. I'm not in a big city though.

I'm seeing quite a few SS models for sale just above retail, if you chose to go grey. The TT model is trading $2,000 back of current retail. Glad I got mine before the last 2 price hikes.

If it’s the AD telling you it’s should be obtainable then patience is hopefully all you need. Give it a few months which in the greater scheme of things isn’t that long and review it then if you don’t get your watch.

It's the AD's telling me it pretty easy to get. I just don't have the experience with Rolex to understand the conversion rate from that to weeks/ months.

I do want to get it new from the AD. Just don't know how to set my expectations.

I think its totally doable piece, just ask them every 2-3 weeks, maybe buy small ticket item meanwhile. You will succeed.

tons of greys have it because it's flipped a lot for being ill fitting on the wrist.....get one below retail with b and p

The SD43 has been out since 2017 and combine that with the fact that SeaDwellers are larger heavier watches, they aren’t as popular to the masses IMHO. That means you should have netter success buying one at an AD

If you are planning to maintain relationship then buy from AD. Otherwise look for a Mk1 grey before they become difficult to find. Should find one below retail, but the only disadvantage it may be out of warranty.

Just put your name in on as many ADs as possible. You will have one withing a few more months.

Welcome from the other side of PA. I am assuming 1-3 months. Stay on them, it will come in.

Welcome. I'm in the Philly burbs, and it took me over 2 years to get my SD43 from my AD here, of course, that was during the height of the mania. May be easier now.
