current prices in HK

Hi, im new here, been lurking a while but joined today .... 'cuz ive finally saved enough to buy my first rolex! I'm planning to go to hongkong to buy it this weekend! Saved for it for 5 years!

Thanks to all the opinions and posts ive read here, ive narrowed my choices down to either a milgauss GV (if i can find one in stock) or a ss DJ2. I really cant decide which one, but i think ill be very happy with any one of them so ill just decide when i try them on...

my question is, would any of you know how much these two watches should cost right now in HK? i plan to buy this weekend already...

if i go to an AD in HK, like, emperor, how much discount from retail should i expect for each of these watches?

It matters to me as im really on a tight budget (as i said, took me 5 years to save up hehe)

I also read in separate threads about a current price increase - has rolex increased in HK already? if not, should i hurry already before it does? hehe

Thanks in advance for all your kind help!

I understand that a GV would cost around HKD49,000 and you would not be offered any discounts if you go for ADs (e.g. Emperor) since GV is still being considered as a hot item over there.

I suggest you to go to the below link (unfortunately in Chinese but you will know the price that a grey dealer is offering). This grey dealer's main business is sale of handbags with watches being a portion of their business. Very good reputation therefore no harm to visit their shops around Hong Kong for a quote.

SS DJ II is too new for most grey dealers in HK therefore unlikely that you can locate one from them. Last time, I was told that it costs approx HKD66,000 for the ADs which would only offer you maximum of 7% discount.

Good luck with your coming purchase.

Drop me a line. I can usually get 13-15% at Emperor and European Watch. If don't mind buying from a re-seller I know a few reputable shops where I get my Vintages.

Cheers,

Eric

The Milgauss GV is a different story my friend. They are still sourcing one for me (with a little discount).

Haha... Bought Milgauss GV at TimeCity Central during lunch when i passed by as it was looking at me in the window.
No discount... but was happy to get it at MSRP as we all know that this was almost as hot as Daytona here in Hong Kong.

I just came back from HK, saw GV in some places however I believe they were not ADs. Though I dont remember the exact price tag but I believe it is around 47-49xxxHKD. Cant imagine they would offer discount on GV but Im sure you will be able to slice 15% off on DJII!!

Good luck and happy hunting!

I would recommend read as much post as possible over here before spending your hard earning money, too many fake/imitation out there.

Anyway, no use crying over spilt milk - i finally bought my rolex! a ss DJ2, the one with black dial and roman numerals! i got it from a store near harbour city, the name on my receipt is solomon watches, i think. Got it for only 8% discount tho... :( I paid around HKD51,300...

but its ok, i love it anyways! hehe....
will post pics when i got time to take them, as i need to catch up on work and clear out my inbox first hehe.
