My new Day Date

I got this over the thanksgiving weekend in Las Vegas. I had been looking at YG GMT's for a long time, but I saw the platinum/glacier Day Date with the simple illuminated markers and hands and just loved it. Had to think it over overnight, but couldn't pass up the deal I was offered. Even my wife was saying, "get this one." Way to jump in on your first Rolex, huh? I like that it has a certain graceful, understated style in platinum. I figure most people would think it stainless steel. This is a lifetime watch. I fully expect to wear it until I assume room temperature, hopefully a lot of decades from now!

In the box.

Nice close up.

On the wrist with a well-worn leather jacket.

I love the bracelet and hidden clasp.

I have a really good Japan domestic market only Seiko Spirit GMT quartz in titanium that I really like, so my GMT watch needs for aviating are actually satisfied. Maybe I'll get that GMT some other day. :)

What a beautiful and incredible piece. Nothing like going straight to the top for the first Rolex.

Wear it in good health. I bet that baby weighs a TON on the wrist.

Very cool ! Elegant, graceful, RARE !

Other WIS's will recognize it instantly, and probably genuflect and fall down at your feet. Non-watch people won't, and do we really care about them ?

Inquiring minds need to know...did you pre-screen your wife for appropriate disposition before popping the question ?

Saw your post on the Corvette Forum site. Telling them to 'drool away' over your new watch, especially a Rolex usually doesnt go over so well over there.
Nice watch.
