Anywhere to order an OEM caseback?

Hi,

I'm a little leery of eBay (and can't find what I'm looking for there anyway), but if I wanted a new caseback for a recent gray market purchase---a 116000---is there any way to purchase one direct from Rolex, or do you think an AD would have access to one through a parts account? Anyone have luck with something like this?

My existing caseback has an engraving I don't love...

Assuming I were able to find one of these, I'd probably be wise to wait and have it swapped by my watchmaker when the watch is next being serviced, lest I risk damaging the waterproof seal---does that seem right?

I'm guessing that if I were to (eventually) send the watch to Rolex for service, I wouldn't have the option of requesting they replace the caseback for me...

Any input & advice welcome!

By far, the least expensive place for a new case back is the Dealer.

Appreciate that input. The local jeweler where I’ve purchased (and serviced) a few pieces over the years (Omega and Tag) is also an AD for Rolex. Perhaps I can check with them, even though I’ve never actually bought a Rolex from them. (I wonder how much they’ll scold me for going gray on this watch...)

I had a similar issue with a 16710 that I have. It went in for a service last year And the NY RSC happily replaced it with a period correct new one for $135. I’d recommend this route.
