That's a stunner, HK! And the thing about that Patek is, it is increasing in value as it sits on your wrist. I love the aquanaut because of its clean lines and sleek look and shape - soooo coool.
Its a watch for a lifetime. Enjoy!

AWESOME! I am seriously looking into a gold model with a very simple appearance 5196J (yellow gold). These are beautiful watches but I would never subject them to what I currently subject my Rollies to.
Good luck with that jazzy piece!

First off: Congratulations on a magnificent piece.
Does not get any Better than a Patek or Lange, the epitome of watch making. Smart move Secondly, thanks for the wrist shots and unboxing pics. I LOVE those, makes me feel I was there I try and do the same. That particular model is as tough as any other watch out there, the sport Pateks are quite tough. I would not have the heart to subject it to anything but adoration and quite whispering but I would not be worried about it coming loose either. And yet so elegant and timeless, truly a legendary peace!! Great packaging too, gotta love that! Adds to that initial: experience:cheers Enjoy that fantastic time piece |

The Aquanaut is a much maligned but beautiful piece.
I have a 5165 and I wear it every other day. It's slightly smaller than yours, but it fits me perfectly. The movement is superb and I'm pretty sure you'll find it even more impressive than many other watches in terms of precision and accuracy. And please don't compare it to a Panerai. Different ball park, different league. The Patek is a true pedigree. Wear it happily and in good faith and health. |

Nice
Call me ignorant but why is that watch 17.5k? I understand the PP watches are exclusive but how many of those are made? I have a hard time justifying my Rolex price!

Beautiful Watch. I'm not worthy; I'm not worthy.
You've definitely arrived. I tried on a few Patek's the other day. Awesome. Terry Newton

Afaik PP makes more or less 40.000 watches per year. Of which 12.000 quartz for woman ( aquanaut quartz, ref 24) So 'only' 28.000 are mechanical. It is not a cheap watch but it's is worth it's price. Like others said before, this is another league :) |

That said, I love the Pateks I own. But the prices are getting such that I'm thinking I should be hesitant about wearing them, and when that happens, they stop bringing me joy.....
