Explorer II dial
I asked earlier but i couldn't "catch" the reflection of the writing earlier.
Is this a "normal" Explorer II dial ? It looks like porcelain to me , last photo is from elsewhere on the forum (I believe it to be mr. Gatsby's) Thanks in advance Jack |

I don't think so...that's just the normal Explorer II dial. I don't think there was ever a Rolex Explorer II with a porcelain dial, the early Oysters and the Daytona came with one.

Made in stick and roman, 100% no doubt. Offered thru VRF lately , Bear sells a roman DJ and Bartonjet (http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...ight=porcelain) sells a stick marker dial. Jack |

Went to the AD
I just bought the watch 2 weeks back so I went to the AD, with its own service center, and had the watch tested for WR.
They've been Rolex AD since 1948 I brought in the watch and was called on my cell within 10 minute about the watch not being WR but it could be fixed within an hour. After another 5 minutes they asked me to come back, when I came back he offered me a complete new bezel without the cost of installing it. (old one was a little faded). I agreed on it and was offered a cup of coffee while waiting. After the waiting the watchmaker came in the store and gave a compliment about the condition of the watch and it's accuracy. It's water resistant for the full 100m again I immediatly took the chance to ask about the dial It's enamel on base metal Jack |

I don't see anything wrong with the dial.. You are using harsh lighting that makes everything shine, including the hands, rehaut etc...
