Special Incoming - My first Journe
Something really exciting happened yesterday. For those who are familiar with FP Journe, you know just how big of a deal it was not to only be allocated my first piece, but to officially be welcomed to what has become a second family for me. Ironically, when I Visited the boutique two years ago to learn about the brand, it was the Octa Lune that I decided I wanted (I still do, and it’s on order). But I’ve been to about 6 of the events (or more?) in that time, and I think they could sense my longing to have one of their special timepieces - and so they made the Elegante happen for me, a piece that they don’t usually allocate as a first watch due to the demand and more accessible price point.

Congratulations on the acquisition! The Elegante has grown on me over time. I have to say that the folks at the Miami boutique have been great to work with. I am the second owner of a CS that's about 10 years old and after chatting it up with one of the gents during my visit, I sent it in for service a few months later. Communication throughout the process was great, watch came back to my wrist on a fresh strap and I'm in love all over again.
The visit itself was fantastic as it was just me, my wife, and the staff. Lots of pieces to try on and admire. I had my Czapek on at the time and had him try it on, and it was really cool to talk with a fellow enthusiast who had interest outside of the brand they sell. I let him know that if the opportunity arises, I'm interested in the newest platinum version of the Lune. I figured it was an impossibility, but he said that with some patience he'll try to make it happen. Time will tell, but it was at least nice to be given the time of day after some souring experiences with other brands. |
