Hi JrPF,
Welcome to TRF. I hope you're not serious when you say the watch was manufactured in Hong Kong!! You do know what that means, don't you?

Don't tell me that...On the Rolex papers, the numbers 888 are before the serial number F99....
Are you serious???? |

No worries, pal, you'll get a lot of "leg pulling" on this forum.
But you're right - 888 represents Hong Kong and you can see in the pic below that mine reads 810 which represents Australia....that's where my watch came from.

Welcome to TRF, JPF.
JJ's right. I trust you didn't realy mean it was "manufactured in Hong Kong" and that was just a slip of the keyboard. If you got it from a reputable jeweler (is the jeweler an AD?) then you should be OK. The watch came with all the right papers, including warranty, didn't it?

Well, Jr., I hope you have a receipt for the watch.
I suggest you take the receipt, papers and watch to Rolex HQ in Jardine House, Central and show it to them. They will verify it for you. JJ

I have the appraisal and will be sending off to my insurance company to get insured... How much is it usually to send it off to the Rolex Service Center to verify?

Anyway, enjoy the watch. Be careful that you might find yourself continually sneaking glances at it. It's a problem chronic to Rolex ownership.
