New seamaster 39mm

I happen to be at my omega boutique today and was talking about the seamaster 300 diver and wished it was a little smaller. Whilst he disappeared to fetch a couple of watches the distributor for omega happen to be there and he over heard our conversation.

He introduced himself and told me who he was. He asked would would my preference be for the seamaster worn by Daniel Craig. I said the sweet spot for everyone would probably be 40 or 39mm.

He smiled with a massive grin and said the the new seamaster 300 is a 39mm.

He said it would initially be available only in the black dial on the rubber strap and steel bracelet.

I really hope his right and can finally have a seamaster in the collection.

Wow!! This is explosive if true!!

I don't mind 42mm, and my current fav is the Paris 2024, but it would be nice to have a 39mm in the collection. If well executed, it would give the Submariner a run for its money!

This potentially is good news, if true! I will never forget opening the box of a SMP300 that I bought without having seen or handled before hand. It was on a bracelet and my first impression was, this is huge! It must be a true 42mm. My sweet spot has always been 40mm, or if it was a Rolex, who knows.... probably 39.5 or so.

I really hope you're right! Please let it be thinner than 13mm.

I would only be interested in the watch is it was the current 42mm. At 39mm it will not work for me but some would love it and that is part of the fun of the watch game. Not everything has to work for everyone.

…then he walked out of the boutique, went back to work at the Panda Express in the food court, and told his buddy, “You’re not gonna believe what I told this dude at the Omega store”

The HEV would look out of place on a 39mm IMO.

but seriously if this true its great news....if they get proportions correct in the downsizing...and make it in Blue sooner rather then later so I can swap out my current SMP blue

This is disrespectful. Not funny at all.

Edit: OMG!!... so sorry. I misread that as referring to the OP... Apologies! When read correctly, I see the humor.

And then again I don't think many people who work at panda express are suited and booted. I can't see him making this up. We actually had a good conversation and based on that I have to believe him.

As an owner of multiple 300M's that has on many occasions admired the piece on my wrist and thought, "it really would be cool if there was a version 39-40mm and 1-2 mm thinner", I certainly hope it is reality.

i would assume that its the same 42mm dimensions as the other current Seamasters, but who knows. in the pics of Daniel Craig wearing it, you can make a case for it being 42mm or a case that it is indeed smaller...just cant really tell. i prefer the 42 size myself

The 42mm NTTD Seamaster (as it lacks the date and has a slimmer case than the standard SMP) wears smaller. 42mm is perfect for me, but I do like a slimmer case. Whatever Daniel Craig is swearing, I think it’s going to be a whole new rollout for this model. I’m thinking 40-41mm, slimmer case, tighter wave dial, HEV will remain, the older models and bracelets will be discontinued in favor of the mesh or rubber option. I would love to see a flat link bracelet, but I doubt it.

Thanks for unilaterally deciding this. I'll stick with my 42mm which are perfect for me

Bummer. 41 would be perfection (for me anyway). I can't do a 39 sport watch.

It looks fine on the 39.5mm PO so should be ok if true.

Dear Heavenly Father + the Holy Ghost, please imbue your divine touch onto the C-Suite executives at the SWATCH group to guide their light in order to make the 39mm black no-date Seamster Diver 300m an earthly reality. Please God Amen.

I don't see the fuss about a smaller SM. Like the obsession with big watch sizes a few decades ago, this obsession with small watch sizes is equally baffling.

Because some people have smaller wrists and the 42mm Seamster wears too large. Why can't we have it both ways. There's already a 42mm for those who love it. A new 39mm would be amazing. No room to make more wrists happy??

It's the same for the 41mm Sub for me, comically too large. I recently tried on the 5 digit Sub and it wore incredibly well. It's amazing how a couple mm makes a difference. YMMV.

I hope this 39mm Diver 300 becomes a reality. It won’t be a watch for me, as I have a 42mm and love it, but offering a 3mm smaller version would be smart. Rolex/Tudor are doing this with their Tudor offerings (BB58 is 37mm and Tudor also offers Black Bay in 39mm and 41mm). I’m actually wanting to go the opposite direction and also get a Diver 300 black ceramic and titanium 43.5mm no date with that awesome gray dial, but I think a 39mm option would be awesome for a lot of people.

It looked fine on the older generation 36mm mid-size watches.

No business card, just a 10 min friendly chat. I had my 3rd gen snoopy which probably helped. Watch this space, it's definitely a 39mm. After my sales rep returned I asked him and he even confirmed its going to be a 39mm, but didn't want to reveal it until it came from the horse's mouth. I can't imagine they would both make this up and I've bought a few omegas from them.

I really do hope it’s a 39mm. I had the current gen 42mm for a while but eventually the case thickness and 50mm lug length put me off (6.5 inch wrist). The watch on Daniel’s wrist doesn’t look 39mm though. It looks very close in size to the current 42mm. A 3mm in diameter reduction should be more perceptible. Looks like a 41mm size at best. Let’s see.
