Buy from David SW?

Hi guys,
I'm looking to purchase a new Rolex and I'm considering David SW. I've always bought from an AD. Will David keep the serial number on the watch intact and will there be a matching serial number on the warranty card? Who services the watch if it doesn't run properly or for regular maintenance? I'd hate to bring it to my AD and ask them to have it serviced and have them tell me to get lost and figure it out on my own.

There are many threads on this. I've bought several from David. The warranty card matches the watch and the warranty follows the watch. Doesn't matter who you bought it from. The warranty starts as soon as the card is swiped at the AD. If anything happens and it needs work, there should be no issue with taking it to an AD. If they give you grief, just send it to RSC direct. Do your homework and read the reviews here in the Who's who section. That should put you at ease.

I would think an AD would be happy to have you bring your watch in to be serviced by them.

The AD can send the watch to a local RSC - IF...you are unlucky and need work. Or...if a mainspring breaks etc. It happens.

You could also simply send it in yourself if you are not near a center.

However, Rolex now suggests servicing every 10 years as you know. So...you'll likely not have to worry - for a while.

I've purchased numerous pieces from David SW (receiving one today in fact) and they are all absolutely as described. His pieces normally come with full box/papers/etc and nothing has been altered on the watches at all. You can buy with absolute confidence from David SW. What you see if what you get and there are no games. He's a great seller.

I've personally haven't done a deal with David, however based on the countless solid references about him, you can definitely buy with confidence.

Every piece is different, but I would say the majority of his pieces come with a complete set. The information is typically all in the listing. Otherwise, just ask him, he'll tell you.

Consider Takuya too. I've done a bunch of deals with both guys, they won't disappoint.

I have not used him but I would have no reservations what so ever to buy from him should the situation arise.

Nothing but excellent reviews.

I bought my first Rolex from him last month. He was a pleasure to deal with and the watch came fully stickered. It also had box and "papers" with my name on warranty card with 5 year Rolex warranty. He will also FedEx overnight so you will have it the next morning by 10:30 am!!

Been thinking of buying from him for awhile. Just curious, how well packed is the fedex box, does he include a lot of padding? I see fedex delivery guys dropping and kicking boxes all the time.

I bought from DavidSW - Great Experience - would buy from again without hesitation. Same watch serviced by RSC - no issues.

You should feel confident in buying from David.

Loads of replies here saying he's a great seller (and countless endorsements in hundreds of other threads) so I'd personally have no problem buying from him if I was in the US of A. In fact, I have considered buying from him even though it would be at a premium to my local RRP as he is able to source stock that none of the UK ADs can readily obtain (i.e. SS sports models).

However, I think the concern that the OP has is whether he would be able to take the watch and warranty card (potentially not in his name) to RSC and have the watch fixed under warranty if necessary without a problem. Have any members done this and was it straightforward?

Considering some of the RSC NY horror stories (again, plenty of threads) I can understand the OPs concern. It would be great to hear if any forum members have successfully had a David SW watch fixed under warranty at an RSC.

Apologies if I misinterpreted the OP.
