I want a 42 GMT!!!!
Jocke! When you go to Basel this year tell Rolex to introduce a 42MM GMT please. Yeah Yeah, I know we have had this discussion before but why not? They have the case (same one used in the 42 EX II), the movement (3187). All they would have to do is create a 42-sized ceramic bezel and rotating mount. It can't be that hard.
I absolutely love my EXII 42, but really miss the ability to mark the time (like you can with the bezel on the GMT). Not necessarily for traveling but every day things; parking meters, meetings, whatever. It was a convenient and missed feature. I think it would be a popular watch. OK, you heard it here first! Jocke will be bringing us back pictures of the new 42 MM GMT introduced at Basel this April! |

If they used the same case as the ExpII...I think the GMT would look decent at 42mm.
If the used the existing case and just "made it bigger"...I think the GMT would look awful. I still prefer the older 40mm case.

I love mine the way it is.
If they used the 42 exp case than your also looking at a twin lock instead of trip. I really like trip lock and think the twin on the exp is a mistake.

Paul - how were you using the 24-hr. bezel to time these things?

Yes, I think so too. Couldn't you simply put the the triangle at the minute hand when you want to start and then count the elapsed time in minutes off the inner dial between the triangle and where the minute hand now is? Even on the newer GMTs that only have 24 clicks you could still get within almost a minute. Good enough for stuff like parking meters.
