RG YM 40 or WG YM 42

I have a fortunate choice of acquiring either the RG YM 40 or WG YM 42. Having tried both on side by side, I’m hopelessly unable to decide. Other brands I have are in 41 and 42mm case sizes, so the size of the YM 42 doesn’t weigh in on the decision much. The RG is probably the more attractive, but the WG suits my skin tone best. An absurd question, but for those who have found themselves deciding between the two, what swung it?

40 rose for me but then the wg42 is also nice, go with your skin tone. Since u will wear it daily?

Love the rose gold, but like you, the WG suits me better - and is somewhat more stealthy as it 'could' be steel - WG for the win.

I prefer the WG for the metal and size. I have owned it before and will probably buy it again. The RG does not work for my skin tone and lack of accessories that match the metal.

I prefer the RG and especially on your skin tone. I think the RG looks perfect on you. Size is right and it actually looks better than the WG on your skin.

The WG 42 for me. It's is supremely comfortable (for me at least) and a special aesthetic on the wrist. It's just more refined somehow.

If they were the same size I'd be all over that rose gold. It's a beautiful combination with the black dial and bezel. BUT 42mm for my 7.5" wrist is a better size. Based on your wrist photos I think the 40 works best for you and I think the RG makes it a more special piece.

If I had the same criteria as you…no clear cut winner, size doesn’t matter, etc…My first question if I were choosing…what’s in my collection already?
Do you have multiple pieces, SS and PM, is this a one and only?

I actually have your skin tone (at least as far as your photo goes) and I bought the RG because I felt it matched my skin tone better and for my 6.75” wrist I preferred the 40.
I find the RG very subdued and it continues to be one of my favorite watches.

I’d buy the 40 in rose gold. Really can’t go wrong. Cool watch either way. If you like the 40 the most, don’t worry about the other factors and get the 40 I think.

I've found the RG to wear a little small...but love the warmth of the colors with the red line of text.

You lose the warmth/color factor with the WG...but the size looks/feels better on the wrist. (IMO)

So, it just depends on what appeals to you most. Keep us posted,

Extremely grateful for the responses! To answer an earlier point - my other watches are SS, this would be the first PM watch. Interesting and a lot of fun to see the opinions - RG has just a little more love than the WG it seems. At the end of all this, of course will share what I end up with.
