126500 Daytona Bezel
hi i have a question, about the newer generation of steel daytona.
Does the steel rim around the bezel could get easily dinged ? Also does it give better protection for the ceramic bezel compare to the previous model ? because as i know for the ceramic,it's very scratch resistant, but could get shattered. |

its for esthetic only, the original ceramic bezel is as sturdy as steel, no damage has been reported so far.

Purely aesthetics/retro look.

It’s aesthetic IMO.
Omega uses it on the 321 and I wear this watch about one week out of every month. No sign of wear whatsoever I think elevates the look of the watch, YMMV Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would think the think steel ring around the 126500 bezel is purely aesthetics (and maybe to protect that odd ceramic bezel that does break - although I have to yet see or hear of that on TRF or anywhere else)
That said, I've had my 116500 for 7 years and is worn quite often. Sometimes daily and sometimes part of a larger rotation. it's been through the rigors of daily life, work, commute, travel, gym, pool, shower - all with care of course. The bezel is still pristine and don't see that changing anytime soon (knock on wood) |
