Incoming: My First AP, Code 11.59 Smoked Purple Dial

To continue my last topic... Landed a new job last year, want to reward myself, but I was too bust the last 18 months.

I was following the market a bit, so I knew it would be difficult to find a watch I want. Few 'hot' models were on my mind, but going to a grey dealer was not an option. I don't want to pay premium, and when you buy a luxury item, I want to have the 'full' experience. Audemars excels in that.

Went to the a AP boutique here in Hong Kong. Tried the 15450 and 15500, nice watches, but obviously hard to get. The SA introduced the Code 11.59 with smoked grey and white dial. I saw the watches on AP's website, however I'm not a dress watch person, so didn't pay too much attention to it. Till I saw them in person. I liked the smoked grey dial a lot.

Last Monday I went to the AP House to see if they have few more models. SA presented the purple and burgundy dial. The purple dial was just gorgeous. Had to think about it...

Went back today, and bought it. It's difficult to take good pictures of it, so I advice people to check them out in person.

I wish they came with a deployment buckle, that the only remark I have...

Few (bad) pictures:

Congrats, that purple is gorgeous!

Agree that I wish they'd included the deployant on these. My Code feels particularly top heavy and I'm always scared I'm going to drop it!

Congratulations! That Code is spectacular, and I suspect will only become more and more popular with time. Strap, dial, lugs - it just works for me (alas, my wrist is too thin for one).

Great shots of the Code in my favorite city in the world. It’s been too long since I’ve been in Hong Kong, and far too long since I’ve had a Tai Cheong egg tart.

Thank you for the pictures, really enjoyed seeing them!

Quite the nice pivot there. At this price point, might as well shell out the extra 24k HKD and get the deployant. In the mean time, time to start strap shopping!

The deployant in pink gold is 40k HKD... Will buy it eventually. It's Christmas, so have to buy other gifts as well...

One more picture, from the office... Purple is quite subtle, that's why I preferred above the smoked grey.

So excited for you and pics look amazing.

You might be better off getting the deployment from the US service center unless the price took a massive jump up from the summer.

Hopefully everyone else in the family gets a code now too for Xmas gifts?? Haha

Unfortunately HK has changed a lot... I've been in this city for 8.5 years, and it's not the same anymore, different vibe. Not only because of the political situation, just quality of life went downhill. When you go to a Michelin star restaurant, you pay premium for average cuisine. At the the egg tarts are consistent in quality...

Congratulations

Purple is one of my initial choice between the blue as well.

Ended up with blue after my SA recommended that I’m more into the blue character

Welcome to the club and enjoy it buddy !

Few more snapshots from during my Christmas 'staycation'. Getting more attached to the Code than my other watches..

That is a very nice look, I like it!

Not sure you would want to wear this watch on your next military deployment though, so stick to the tang buckle
