126300 vs 126334 Datejust 41
Hello TRF,
I am hoping to hear opinions and see pics of your 126300 and 126334. I am thinking of getting one - either the Wimbledon dial or silver stick. I am torn between the fluted w/ jubilee 126334 or the smooth w/ oyster 126300. I am leaning towards the 126300 with Wimbledon, as I think the dial flair will be tempered by the plainness of the smooth bezel and oyster. However I’ve always had a soft spot for the silver stick dial. I also think the smooth bezel may look a bit better/sportier on my ~6.5 - 6.7 wrist. I am not interested in the DJ36 -- been there, done that. However, the jubilee will have a shorter effective lug to lug. I have a 126710 on jubilee and a 124060 on oyster. Thanks for your thoughts and pics! |

Roman numerals on a watch are stupid. Hope that helps.

I always loved the combination fluted with jubilee in a DJ and, as many here, had the opinion that a dj must be like this. Until I saw the 41 in real life and completely changed my mind. 41 is big, fluted with jubilee simply don’t have the same result as on the smaller sizes: i don’t know how to describe it, it is just too much. So I bought a 41 Wimbledon smooth jubilee, very nice! (Even tough I never wear it, but that is a different story…)

Oyster on fluted is the ultimate combo for a SS DJ
I’d go fluted jubilee on a TT DJ The sunburst of either dial just makes the watch dazzle that much more with a fluted bezel |

Wixon's tried, very hard and unsuccessfully, to cheat me out of a couple grand. I don't go there and do not recommend them.

Roman numeral. Super classy. Very unique and beautiful piece.
PS Have you considered a jubilee / smooth-bezel combo?? It works beautifully on the DJ41. I think the fluted is over-the-top on this model and also a little awkward for the case dimension, but the smooth bezel gives it a sporty flair and also balances it better with the case.... photo enclosed is NOT my own-- |

I lean hard towards what I think of as "classic" styling in a watch rather than the "Look at me" designs that so many Rolex fans seem to prefer. Simple indices (I know where "6" is and don't need it pointed out) and bezels. My ideal DJ41 would be blue or grey dial on oyster. I think I like plain bezel best although the Omega Globemaster is also high on my list.

Jubilee + Fluted all the way - even if you get the oyster bracelet (considering you have a jubilee already), every Rolex collection needs a fluted bezel

Here a comparison between my smooth/jubilee and fluted/oyster. Apologies for the very bad light. Blue dial is now gone since I preferred the smooth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I think TT DateJust fluted bezel with Wimbledon dial looks the best.

A Datejust should always be fluted IMO. I prefer the jubilee over the oyster but just barely. I have owned both and really liked both. If you want to dial the flash down slightly go for the fluted oyster. But for the Wimbledon I think the SS fluted jubilee takes the prize. Even with sticks I'd still go for fluted jubilee.

I would say it depends on your lifestyle and how do you plan to wear it.
I own a DJ41 with blue dial, fluted bezel on an oyster bracelet. The fluted bezel gives it a dressy feel, but the oyster has a more sporty, casual feel. Allows me to wear in a professional environment and on the weekends when im hanging out. This is the type of watch i wanted because it suited my lifestyle. |
