PAM 840 - Luminor Sealand Dragon Watch
didn't realize panerai was still making these very limited engraved watches, but, you learn something every day.
click here for the article. "Panerai further honors the Chinese market with yearly pieces commemorating the 12 different zodiac signs of the Chinese astrological calendar: this year’s piece is model PAM840 aka the Dragon Watch. The PAM840 is meant to embody the powerful and mercurial emperor of the Chinese zodiac through the mystical and mythical dragon – and his or her equally mythical watch. To keep the mystique, Panerai have limited production to 50 units total." some pix: |

They must be quite bulky as well as heavy.
They are totally cool and I'd love to hear from any owners experience of owning and wearing any of the Sealand models, new or old. Did I say I think they are cool? ;-) |

It's interesting but I've never really understood the hunter case. Functionally I understand why... similar to JLC's Reverso. Just never saw the appeal.

I always thought the tiger version was interesting, but then again it was my college's mascot. Unless I was obscenely rich I couldn't see owning one

Very nice piece indeed but I don't think I can ever justified spending 20K on a timepiece....
but it is very cool...... |

with as you say, the only modern reference being the JLC Reverso. Owning a Reverso I appreciate their function, more so perhaps than a hunter case. It's the total thickness which might be the determining factor of the PAM reference. Can't see that one slipping under a shirt sleeve. cheers richard |
