Help with Patek watch
Hello All,
I've got an older Patek. I'm looking to get a value on this watch. As you can see in the pictures, it's monogrammed on the back and band. I have the original box. The watch works great and keeps time. Anyone know the model and/or approximate year? Does the watch need to be opened up to get a definitive answer? Thanks for any help! Scott River |

I believe it is a reference 3495.
Most likely produced in mid 60's. Production started in 1963. Very unusual to see it with a gold band, which really changes the look of it. With a calibre 10-200 movement. |

Great watch in nice condition.
It could be a 3495 or a 2591. However, your watch has a sub second, and neither of these references had sub seconds. Manuel Wind. Value 4-8k+ on a strap. IF that is a PP bracelet (which I don't think it is) add another 3-5K+ The box is special as well and worth about $1k |

Pretty confident the band is not original. Dial I am not an expert so no comment.

I looked at the 2591, and the back appears to be flatter than this watch.
I did not catch the small second hand earlier, so it may be a 3rd reference that hasn't been posted yet. I do not think the small seconds would change the value much. Even if the bracelet is not signed Patek, I assume it is 18k, and I would estimate the weight at 40 grams, which would scrap out at $2200. |

Thanks for the responses! The bracelet is not marked Patek. Sorry, but what is a PP bracelet?

A PP bracelet would be a Patek Philippe bracelet, Good Luck

I would consider sending it to Stern for service if you don't have a service history. They can clear up any issues on identifying the watch, given the #3 response.

Any watch repairman could pop off the back to look at the reference number located on the inside of the case.
Don't really need to send it in to Patek for that. |

New info!
Hello again!
I've had the back of the watch removed and the #'s retrieved. The watch reference is 2598 Does anyone have an idea of what this watch is worth? Thanks for any help! |

I saw 3 prior listings…
- Hodinkee sold a cleaner version in 2021 for $9,900, height of watch sales and cleaner - One sold from a seller on here 10+ years ago for $5,200 - One is for sale at Torneau for $12k Your movement looks pretty dirty so that watch will need a very expensive maintenance that should be factored in and the others looked to be in nicer overall condition. |

Something is amiss, all the ref 2598's I found on the internet have lugs, while this one does not.
I don't think they had that much variation in their designs. |

Thanks for the feedback, that's interesting to follow, such a rare watch to see :)
I may subscribe to last Milgauss88's remark. Some owners have asked bracelet additions to watches outside of the official network (it was the trend in the 50's-70's from what I understand). I agree on the comment made by fellow forumners that the bracelet doesn't look "Patek" (I'm not an expert). Hence, the lugs could have been removed indeed and a bracelet welded. This will have an impact on the value and on the overhaul price if sent to Patek for servicing. I don't know what their policy is but usually when not "original" a part is replaced back to original (with the potential additional cost) or they'll refuse to do it. Only a Patek AD can tell you what's ahead. |
