Why aren’t these trading trading higher
Hey guys,
I’ve been looking at picking up a 25854Ti. This is the ROO perpetual chronograph. They made very limited numbers of these. I believe between 35-45 pieces. I could be mistaken but I believe this was the first time that a chrono function was offered with a perpetual calendar ( white gold, rose gold and titanium version). They are very rare, are perpetual calendars with an added chrono complication that are trading about a 12-15k premium over the standard titanium (26170Ti) ROO chronos and about 20k less than the new (26238Ti) 2021 all titanium ROO. Doesn’t seem to make sense, but the majority of the watch market doesn’t make sense…..( a very rare, less than 45 piece perpetual chrono trades for 30k less than plain Jane blue dial 15500) Sorry for the rant fellows. Curious on your thoughts? Happy Holidays to everyone and may the new year be your best year yet. God bless. |

It’s an offshore first. Closed caseback second. White dial third. I agree there’s relative value on older stuff across the board. The current market just wants the new new. Gone are the days where the discontinued reference reigns king. Bring on the latest.

Everything GB Man said, plus I think the super LE just don’t have awareness they exist. I came across a WG PQ the other day, limited edition 20 that I didn’t even know existed. Knew about the platinum version but not a similar WG one. So ironically with so many small LE demand as tamped down.

Thanks Guys,
Don’t you think that someday people will start to realize how collectible these pieces are? I remember when the Ferrari community considered the 288 GTO a fancy 308 ( trading for 200k), now considered a true early super car. Trading for > 2.5 million. |

Consider it a great value piece for someone that truly wants to get into AP but doesn’t want to pay the crazy mark ups today.
You get a super light perpetual calendar chronograph which is an insane complications package |

Reign,
You are exactly right. These are great value for a true great horology piece. A perpetual Chrono from AP at under 50-55k. I'm over the hype BS pieces. If I ultimately acquire the piece I will defiantly post some picks. Thanks guys!!!!!! |

The white gold blue dial is amazing. I’ve been looking for one forever but can’t find one anywhere.

Here’s a very cool write up about the history of perpetual calendars at the end they discuss the history of the perpetual calendar in the offshore series.

These are the pieces you should be buying, instead of the hyped pieces. Better value and more affordable.

1000% brother. I’m trying to find as many nice examples of these rare early offshores.

For a piece like this, I would factor in additional costs for servicing and potentially a complete movement overhaul. Unless of course it has recently been serviced.
