Jack Mason Strat-o-Timer: no love?

I'd like a versatile flyer GMT at a price point lower than a Tudor or Longines. I keep coming back to the Jack Mason Strat-o-Timer

For $899, you get the following specs:
-40mm case
-13mm thick, including domed sapphire crystal
-20mm lug width
-47mm lug to lug
-200m WR
-screw down crown
-micro-adjust on bracelet with quick-release
-Miyota 9075 movement with jumping local hand (flyer)
-Kicker: JM regulates the movement to +/- 5 seconds/day

You have multiple color options and they throw in a second strap.

It looks like JM looked hard at what enthusiasts want and then went and built it. They certainly did not have to regulate the movement and add micro-adjust and quick release to the bracelet but they did anyway.

I know JM is better known as a fashion brand but with the new Strat-o-Timer and Hydrotimer dive watches, they look poised to jump into the enthusiast conversation.

Does anyone have any experience with the Strat-o-Timer?

I don't own one, but I handled several of them and spent some time talking to the owners at Wind Up in Chicago this summer. The watch is really well built, and felt solid; I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if the design is what you are looking for. They take what enthusiasts want and really do try to incorporate it with their product.

I think they are somewhat ignored because they do have some watches that seem more like a "fashion watch" with quartz movements. The Strat-O-Timer was great though, and the owners were nice guys.

Yeah I’m impressed with the specs. The owners must be listening to what enthusiasts ask for. I may have to pick one up as a travel beater when they do another version with a light-colored dial.

Did the owners give you any sense as to what they want the brand to be?

Major difference is JM is a flyer GMT and Zodiac is a caller which is big for a lot of people.

That Zodiac looks great but I’d prefer a flyer GMT.

Not that I can recall.
