Daytona: Simple question

Hi everyone,

How can I get a brand new Daytona white dial at retail price? Any strategy or prefered location in the world? Happy to wait 12 months.
Apologies if this is a naive question.
Friend of mine in the watch/ jewlery industry said impossible to get even for him.

You probably will not ever get one at retail but you can get one if you go gray

All you have to do is pick an AD and start buying watches. In a few years and a $200,000 spend later you'll be able to get one for $16,000 out the door. Totally worth it.

200 K wouldn’t do anything in my AD. Last time I was there they let my wife try on a $3.5 million diamond

If this was even remotely possible, you wouldn’t want one.

NJKDog-I bet if you bought your wife a 3.5 million dollar ring they would throw in the white dial Daytona.

I got a black one in Las Vegas but I'm sure NJ is worse since you're closer to the money printer.

I was a customer 5 years ago before things got really weird too.

If you were my friend I could get you one for MSRP, but then I wouldn’t be able to get my Lemans. A friend of mine asked me this recently and I had to tell him I’m not wasting my allocation on a panda.

If I were you I would go grey or choose another model that you have a shot at buying at an AD.

Beat me to it. On a similar note: Did you also see on the same page Patrick sold his BLNR on Jubilee in hours for $19.3 again.. He is selling every BLNR with in a day of posting. There is none in stock with our other sellers except DavidSW. Heck ‘I’ll post it below.

Big and frequent spend history. The only person I know that gets a panda annually buys PM pieces and jewelry.

Yes I have noticed BLNR flying off the shelves as well.

Hilarious - I was literally going to type "A good chance to get one is to walk into an AD, go straight to the owner/GM, and say that you want to buy your [FILL IN THE BLANK] $200k worth of jewelry and it was agreed that you get a watch, and that needs to be the Daytona. Say that we can facilitate the entire transaction on the same day, and that they should call you when the watch is ready. Of course nothing is guaranteed."

Only one way to jump the line at your AD, and for a 500 it's a long long line, personal relationship, or money. None of the above, going grey or a trusted seller is your only chance, remember to buy the seller. I have a friend going on five years at my AD, happily, I waited a little over two years. Would I go through the wait again, hell no, every time my phone would ring hoping it was my AD with the good news. I look at my wrist now, miles of smiles!! Wish you luck, make the move, and smile away!!

Just buy about £200k of over priced jewellery, which the dealer makes big money on , and then you should be able to get one …eventually

Mainly because of Daytona hype yes it has a fantastic movement but it has to be the most hyped Rolex watch ever.Mainly perhaps because its always been hard to get at retail since launch back in 2000.But today because of the hype sellers jumping for joy as they can sell them for silly money as many are willing to buy to wear the Daytona hype.

It is a naive question.

Don't you think that if others knew how to do this they would do it and probably not tell you or anyone else?

Yes, it is a "naive question", but since you have only been a member of this forum since August 2009, you probably haven't had the opportunity to read one of the countless threads in which this topic is discussed ad nauseam.

Welcome to the forum!
