Save.... or go for something else?!??

Help!

I have promised I will treat myself to a much admired GMT II ceramic for my 30th Birthday in a year's time. I have already started saving and am about half way there.

BUT... I have been tempted to bring the purchase forward and maybe settle for a Tag or a cheaper alternative. But some are nice but not nice enough!

What to do?!?!?

Wait until the new Rolex models are released, and get one of those.

DONT buy the Tag....thats my advice!

Keep saving and buy the Rolex...you will be so delighted when you have it on your wrist!

I am 30 in 2 months time and am onto my 3rd Rolex. Started with a Datejust, then got a Sea-Dweller, now have an SS Daytona.

Love Rolex and I am sure you will too....please keep saving :)

Best Regards,
Nairn

Save up, it will only make the whole process that much sweeter! You will also have a much better appreciation for what will be on your wrist for many years. Hang in there

Do not, do not, do not buy the TAG. I love TAG's - but trust me, get yourself the GMT and you won't regret it. The TAG will never satisfy you and you'll kick yourself for wasting your money on it. As your friends, we implore you - buy the Rolex! =]

all good advice, much appreciated!!

Think I'm going to go and try a GMT II on anyway just to see how it looks, I know it is slightly bigger than the subs etc, anyone got any good pics of it on the wrsit or comparisons with other Rolex?

You'll always kick yourself for getting 2nd best. And it'll always hurt when you see "your" Rolex on sombody else's wrist.

+1. Get the one you really want, don't buy an alternative. After the longing and lusting, you'll be rewarded by the watch of your dreams.

dude get a casio g-shock so you wont feel like a poser with a less than substantial watch and then when you are able, pull the trigger on what you REALLY want. There is nothing worse than trying to pacify your desire with a sub par concession. You have to start over and then you are further away than you were before. With this economy be careful of large purchases but if you really want a rolex get a pre owned model that is older then try to trade up. Do not get a TAG. you will be upset in weeks, not that tag is a bad watch, because its not, it is a great watch. Its just not what YOU really want and you work hard and deserve to have exactly what you want in life. I just turned 40 and I understand the milestone thing very well. Happy early 30!!!

save for what you originally wanted rather than giving into shorter term gratification.

Otherwise you will be left feeling empty and still wanting the GMT only with a smaller bank account.

good luck

Never do this.

You will end up with a watch that you settled for and may or may not end up keeping it.

Always buy what you want first.
