Why Did Rolex Get Rid of the Super Jubilee with Hidden Clasp?
I love the 116234 with super jubilee and hidden clasp. When I see the latest gen models with jubilee, I feel a bit disappointed that the super jubilee is no longer an option.
I suppose the new clasp offers more adjust, but, once fitted correctly, the super jubilee not only looks so much better as a seamless bracelet, but it’s also one of the most comfortable bracelets ever made IMHO. One step forward and two steps back? |

I’m with you on the super jubilee. I don’t like how the new Dj’s clasps look at all. For some reason, the ladies DJ and 31mm DJ still have the super jubilee but it’s not offered on the 36 or 41 anymore. Bummer

I don't think it ever came on the DJ41, did it? I thought that the new clasp came about when the "DJ II" became the "DJ 41" and that the DJ II was only ever offered on Oyster. Did I get that wrong?
I think it was about more than just the micro adjustments, as the current clasp accommodates the Easylink, unlike the old Super Jubilee. Not sure why it stayed around on 31mm and smaller watches. In fact, I think it would have made more sense to keep the hidden clasp specific to PM bracelets on the 28/31mm varieties, but nobody asked me. |

I with you Op, I love the super jubilee, not sure why Rolex discontinued it and it was only offered on the DJII 36 ,the look is amazing and so is the comfort. I wish it was available on the DJ41 even without the easy-link or even as a special order option..
Rolex will sell a ton of them. Did not know it was still available on the lady date just models. I don’t look at many ladies models when I go to the AD. That’s what I love about TRF always something new to learn. |

Yeah, would much rather have super jubilee. East link is very overrated (for me) and I’ve used it like twice in 4 years of regular wear. Then again it’s climate dependent and I’m not a fat American injecting myself to the gills with sodium…

I agree, it should be offered as an option, especially on DJ models.

At first I didn’t think the easy link suited the jubilee bracelet, but on the professional models I think it works well and I do find it useful.

Same here Brian - the wrist swell that is. I use the Easylink function most days. It's quicker than adjusting a Sub Glidelock.

I do love the look of the hidden clasp.
The Easylink clasp is more functional and offers better protection. |

I prefer having the Easy Link system and the clasp is nice.

I agree with the OP regarding the Super Jubilee and feel strongly enough about it to look for the 11 series TT DJ to have one (perhaps my first CPO purchase).
Ironically, the Lady's DJ i bought for my wife in 2001 had a standard clasp, whereas the current model has the Super Jubilee hidden version...I wonder if there is a gender issue (Super looks more sleek/feminine)? Someone mentioned the greater adjustability of the new clasp as being a reason for the change. Could it also be that the Super Jubilee is more prone to stretching than the regular Jubilee? Nevertheless, I think the Super Jubilee clasp should be brought back or at least be an option.

In all seriousness, when I was in nyc in the summers walking around was the only time I really used it. I’ve been in hotter and more humid climates since and haven’t had the need to use it. With no swelling, I can fit my pinky up to the first knuckle under the clasp. So it’s moderately snug but has room if my wrist swells.
As for what I use - Ozempic

I don’t need to use it a whole lot either in my day to day life. I do seem to use it a lot when I’m walking about on hotter days usually on vacations etc. it’s nice to know it’s there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I was never a fan of the hidden clasp. Besides its lack of adjustability, the crown could easily get snagged on something and pop open. My wife had a new 31mm DJ with it and hated the clasp. She never wore the watch and called the clasp a nail buster. We eventually sold the watch and got her a Cartier.
I was glad to see that they did away with it on the 36mm DJ but haven't yet on the 31mm so no DJ for my wife so far. I believe the DD still has the hidden clasp. I had one years ago and didn't keep it very long. |

This Fat American injecting myself to the gills with sodium, who lives in a climate where it can get COLD in the winter and HOT in the summer, uses the easylink of my DJ36 jubilee on a daily basis. Your mileage may vary.

Living in Florida, much more prefer easy link over hidden clasp.
It’s a pain in the rear to being able to adjust my DD40.

I'm with you 100%...I've always loved the look and feel of the Super Jubilee bracelet with the hidden clasp. I have several 36mm Datejust and I feel the hidden clasp wears great! Wish they had that option with the 41mm.

I prefer the look of the clasp. The hidden clasp looks best on the DDs.

Hidden clasp looks better and hides scratches. But having on the fly adjustments makes the new clasp worth it.
