Broken movement? Sorry Victor, but how do you break a movement? On the tech side, I would say that all (ok most) movements can be repaired with the roght parts, so if your Dayt is not working ok; sending it to RSC might be the best thing to do.

That does not sound right Victor. Sorry but IMHO I would pick that baby up and ship it to RSC right away. I have done that with 40 yr old watches and new ones; worth every single penny.

Here's what I do when not in the US: go to the AD in your city; leave the watch and they take care of everything (shipping to RSC, sending you updates, and bringing your baby back); it is a very simple procedure.

...trust me, it might not even be 500us. Let's put it this way: would you rather have that beauty in a drawer wondering what if or knowing how much it takes to fix it by 'mother-ship' ?

+1 send it to RSC, and they'll send you an estimate. You can just tell them not to do anything and have them ship it back. No money is exchanged except for what you pay for postage.

Given your past thread, you should do this at a minimum to make sure the watch you purchased is authentic. If the seller won't give you the watch to send to RSC, you should be very concerned about it's authenticity.

Not trying to be wise here.........

When I owned a Corvette my friends would ask "what mileage do you get". If you can afford a Corvette you can afford the gas. Same with a Rolex, If you purchased a Rolex, one should have the $$$ to have it fixed.

Victor: That trip to your AD just to make sure the watch is authentic will give you peace of mind; and that is priceless

Just send it to the RSC... they will give you an estimate for free!
then decide from there what to do...
worse comes worse... you pay the service fees with 0% apr credit card and pay that off in a few month. Just mho...

It's simple here. There's not much choice. If you want it moving again, you need to get it fixed one way or the other. If you don't have the money, then just leave it in your drawers until you do. Or else, you could wear a Rolex that doesn't move. I would say just send it in as well to just get an estimate. You would never know the real cost until you have someone do an estimate.

Your entire project with this watch sounds like a total disaster. I'd get your money back ASAP! Go buy a nice 100% intact Rolex from a reliable source instead.

I have read both threads and none of it makes sense to me. Really sounds like a bad situation.

Was the watch authenticated in the first instance?

It's implied but not confirmed.

$9500 is rather cheap, even for a watch that needs service/repair.

I wish someone would sell me a WG Daytona for $9500.

No way

Is your watch guy out of his mind ?

You can't break a Daytona movement without hurting the case or dial, look at Gaby's watch (DJ).
Then the first that would happen would be at the balance (to make it stop).
4030 and 4130 are rugged machines.
Have you seen the movement ?

You can not break gears that easy , my

Maybe a little rotor (axle, bearings etc,) but no way more than that.

Let the seller have it fixed or returned no hussle.
