Long story short, I low sided my Ducati the other week at around 35mph. I was wearing protective gear but the jacket sleeve still slid up while i slid on the ground such that when i got up, I looked at my wrist to see that my 16800 sub had sustained some injury (forget my arm right!).

After a little bending, I managed to get the clasp to close correctly. The clasp took the grunt of the damage with a touch of roughness at the bezel and on one of the lugs (see photos).

When I first looked at the crystal i thought that the ground had scratched it all up, but after i wiped it off, much to my surprise the dust on the crystal was that of the pavement not the watch!

Its a widely known fact that the Rolex Submariner is one tough watch, but its nice to know that when put to the test; it will perform with flying colors. Aside from a few dreadful scratches on the clasp, it looks and runs perfectly as if nothing even happened. ...oh and luckily i was ok too. :)

A little tip for any of you out there who may be motorcyclists... ALWAYS wear gauntlet gloves if you are going to ride with your watch on. If not...then maybe just leave it at home! :(

Nice Bike! The Duc took a beating... lets just say almost cost another sub to fix :( but its back on the road again. :)

The sub can be repaired or replaced. You cannot be replaced, your family depends on you. Be safe and watch out for the idiots on the road who are blind when it comes to motorcycles. I am always looking out for motorcycles, giving them the right away every time. :)

I had a crash once and sustained a concussion. Seiko ripped off my wrist never to be found and leave a gouge on my wrist. If it's a ROlex, it would been gone too. Glad you're okay.

I never ride with my watch on. I told my wife that if I crash, I don't want the cops to take it off my wrist before I wake up.
