Day-Date Dial

Some of you might remember that I bought a light champagne dial with Roman markers to replace the white dial on my 118238 Day-Date a few months ago. At the time, I was also interested in the new style index marker (luminova filled sticks) champagne dial, but it wasn't available at Tokyo RSC. I've seen this dial on many 118238s in Tokyo recently.

I am once again looking at a possible dial change, either to the old style stick markers, or the new luminova filled index markers. I know I didn't change that long ago, but stick dials are calling to me! I like the look of the luminova sticks, but the traditional sticks are maybe a bit more elegant.

Two dealers in Tokyo have told me recently that all of the new 118238 Day-Dates with bar or index markers will be the luminova filled version; that the old style stick dial (no luminova) will no longer be used for the traditional champagne dial for the 118238. Or, at least I think that's what these guys told me (my Japanese is weak). Does anyone know if this is true?

Thanks,

Otto

Dozo kunichuwaa wakarimazen.

That's Japanese for "Sorry, I don't know".

But there must be someone here who knows, so stay tuned!
