My Ommie clasp today after 3 months...
Here's what my PO clasp looks like today after almost 3 months of use. I've been as careful as I could with this scratch magnet....and it hasn't been easy!!
PS: That's my handwriting in the background. LOL!!

Looks good JJ. Now quit worrying about scratches. I took 5 yrs of scratches out of my Bond SMP clasp in about 5 minutes with a scotchbrite pad. Just wear it an enjoy it....fix it later.

True, but a person of my fastidious nature would enjoy it better when it's scratch-free...all the time.

Hmmm, JJ, it looks to me as though that bracelet is too far gone to be repaired properly. I recommend you dump that thing as soon as possible and get a nice black bezel GMT-II. The bracelet on that baby will not scratch no matter how much you wear it or beat it up.

Hey JJ,
Exactly as the boys have said above, wow, that is looking after it. You could always put a strip of clear sticky tape on the clasp at the start of the working day and remove at the end.You wouldn't see the right type of tape. BTW.But I suppose you could also wear one glove that covered your watch. It works for Michael Jackson. |

Funnily enough, your comments have a tremendous amount of truth in them. When the watch was very new, I would actually stick a small piece of cello tape over the clasp whenever my work involved some moving of cartons, etc. around the museum. Now, of course, I don't do that any longer, but I do have to wear white gloves whenever I'm handling delicate artefacts so the gloves do protect my watch at all times. JJ
