Normal not to line up. Between my wife and I we have owned over a dozen Rolexes. Of those, one of hers lined up perfectly.....a 31mm DJ.

It's random. Very few line up. If yours is pretty close and you prefer to back it off 1/8th turn nothing will happen. It's best to just roll it to snug not super tight and leave it alone though.

It's a winding crown for winding setting the watch and the emblem it's not supposed to line up with anything

Two of my three Rolex pieces line up pretty straight...My 2021 Two Tone Blusey and DJ 41 Azzurro. My 2021 SD43 doesn't. Really not a big deal as you forget until you see a post like this.

Over 25 years of owning almost a dozen Rolex watches and I have Never ever ever check the logo alignment on my watches.

There is a major obsessive compulsive disorder here.

Good grief!

The crown should be only finger tight...... not sure what you mean by
"MAXIMUM Screw in", but it doesn't sound good.

In life there are things/situations that need to line up. This is not one of them.

Sometimes the forum doubles up as an OCD/Therapy help group topics include scratches, protection, cardboard sleeves, logos notlining up, manuals, more boxes. Emotions range from panic to acceptance to comforting one another.

If it does line up straight from the factory, this is rare, and eventually it will start not lining up straight. Over time, the rubber gaskets will wear in and it will start turning past the 12 o’clock mark.

This is what happened to my Sub which for some reason lined up perfectly straight from the factory. But went past the 12 o’clock mark over time.

My brand new Datejust is about at the 9 o’clock mark so not even close.

That’s interesting! I’d not heard that. Myth dispelled…

OP, enjoy your watch!
I’ve had one or two watches with the crown aligned, out of dozens, and it does not matter. It’s not supposed to be up. You’d think so; but no.

My last two Rolex came without the outer white cardboard. Was thinking of starting a support group for fellow sufferers.

How far off is it?

I only ask, because it can be adjusted.

It would bother me also. I was under the impression that all Rolexes perfectly align with the crown facing up. From my experience all I’ve seen do. But by the responses I guess not… it will still piss me off! But I’m OCD a with these things.

I would take it for service, I’m sure it’s a quick fix and worth the expense to have it align the way it should.

Does it always end up in the same exact position?

Mine changes everytime. But one time it lined up so perfectly I had to take a pic to commemorate

Let’s not forget to mention how much this impacts the resale value of the watch and the potential for this to be a true investment piece. You better get this fixed right away.
