gold rotating bezel insert for 16753
I know you can pick up different aluminum inserts for 16753 GMTs. However, do people generally purchase the gold rotating bezel piece as well? Does it make sense to have the whole unit, so you can pop the entire metal piece out and not risk damaging the insert? I've never actually tried to switch these out before, so I'm not familiar with the procedure. Are they glued in? Or do they just snap in?
Something like this, but NOS of course: https://www.ebay.com/itm/ROTATING-BE...sAAOSw0uVdDJuQ |

Some folks do buy a complete bezel with insert. It's an expensive way to just change the look once in a while.
In the auction you cite, the bezel - which they are calling an insert- is not likely an authentic Rolex part.

No, it's not authentic. I'd purchase an authentic one if I was going to go this route.

This guy does a video on how to switch out a bezel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDsxC0YNcxQ Not sure if this would be the same for my watch due to its age. Its a 16753 from 82. |

Most people just swap out the insert.

Ya, I could swap it out. Only thing is that I'd have the other insert lying around and it could get damaged. I was thinking it would be more protected if it was enclosed in metal. One insert is the original, and the other is even more valuable than the other, so I'd think they'd stay in better shape if I didn't need to click them into the bezel every time I wanted to switch them.
I'm not sure how much an authentic replacement gold bezel would be, or if you could even find one. I guess if that aftermarket one on ebay fits exactly and is real gold, that might be an option. |

I bought two original bezel rings, as since few years the inserts are more expensive than the ring itself. Don’t want to risk to scratch an insert pushing it into the ring.
