Why do Polar Explorer 16570 Patina More

Based on various photos of online, it seems that the hands and markers of the polar explorer ii tritium dialed 16570s from the late eighties to early 90's seem to patina way more than the black dials.

Is there any merit to this observation? I'm thinking that the early black dialed 16570 explorer ii would look really good with those yellow markers that I sometimes see on the polar --- I just haven't really seen one in hand or online?

Anybody have any input here? Photos of black dialed 16570s that have started to patina would be much appreciated! Cheers !
