Rolex Chronometer Precision 8144
Hi,
I just bought this watch, Rolex Chronometer Precision, ref 8144, rose gold. I found nothing about this reference on the internet: Precision + Chronometer on the dial. The Rolex crown on the dial is very small, never seen it before. Serial number: E 69XXX Do you have an idea about the manufacturing date? Or have you seen this model before? Any info could be great! Many thanks |

I believe your reference 8144 was probably produced in the 1950s. The dial on your watch has been refinished at some point, which maybe the reason you're not finding one similar in your search. The link below is an example of an 8144 sold at auction some years back.

I think that I might even go back into the 40's with this one.
As mentioned, the dial has been refinished at some point. You wouldn't see "Precision" and "Chronometer" as they are configured. The movement serial number you cite isn't helpful for dating, but maybe Rolex could provide you with some information on it if you were to write them.
