Duplicating Rolex’s brushed finish…
I suspect there have been many posts on this and I’ve done a Google search with no solid, trustworthy results.
What exactly does Rolex use to get the brushed finish on its newest stainless steel sports models? |

Dremel.
Obvi a joke. Their brushed finished is nice. I suspect their in house manuals specify angles, revolutions, materials, grit, etc… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Try the medium grit for a sport watch. They are very soft and easy to match the grain of the satin finish. Try Otto Frei to get them.

It would be really cool to know the specifics, but I doubt they are ever going to share that information. I assume they likely have their own customized lapping compounds.

You’ll never get it quite like they do at Rolex. People here have tried and it is never the same. Usually it looks a bit more coarse.
If you must absolutely do it, I would personally probably only trust Rolliworks. |
