How much did you spend before being offered a SS GMT?

I know everyone’s story will be different and possibly have no indication of how things play out for others but I’m curious.

How much did you spend with your AD before being offered your GMT?

What watches did you buy?

How long was the wait time for the GMT?

I waited about nine months for a 126710BLNR on Oyster and bought three watches from that same AD (got it in 2023). My partner also bought one from them. Nothing that I did not want though, I still have all of them and intend to keep them. There was no expectation to buy just to move up the list.

I think it will be very dependent on the AD. More and more people reporting better availability nowadays.

Good luck!

Watch spend at my local AD counts for nothing. Watches, especially Rolex have the lowest margins of anything in their store. SS Rolex sport models allocated to a customer would actually count against one towards getting another. It's like you already got your reward.

What really gets their attention is your spend on other jewelry and diamonds in the store over the years.

Especially Rolex watches. They can sell all those they get. Buying Rolex only hurts you in a store trying to spread the Rolex inventory around. Got to wait your turn for another one. If you want to spend buy the non-watch stuff.

For me it was 1 sub (no purchase history) and a gold bracelet for my wife that was $500 before I was offered my Batman in Oct-23.

When I first approached my authorized dealer I was speaking with the manager of the store i let him know I would prefer to buy a Rolex from an authorized dealer then the gray Market. It may have been a month or so after that I got a phone call about a submariner he said he had to get the authorization of the owner in order to offer it to me and he got the okay and gave me the call I went and picked it up. I believe it was after that that I had purchased a date just Wimbledon Jubilee two tone rose gold and was offered a Daytona black dial stainless and then a little while later I took my watch collection in simply because i wanted them to see what I had I like showing people that appreciate the watches what I've got and at that time I was offered a gMT stainless steel Red and Blue Bezel i may be one of the fortunate few that has an authorized dealer that's okay with me just purchasing Rolex watches from them and we've developed a very good friendship and I'm very thankful for that.

Did you use the same sales associate for the jewelry and the watch? I ask because my AD has jewelry in a separate part of the building

I’ve had 2 BLNR oyster + jubilee, 2 x CHNR, 1 x BLRO jubilee, 1x lefty. I haven’t asked for the recent GRNR. I did ask for the YG GMT on jubilee but when it arrived I turned it down because the SkyD YG on jubilee was released and I prefer that.

Over 250k spent at the AD over the past 5 or so years. Also had black and white Daytonas, blue SS skyD, two LVs etc

2 Datejusts. One for me. One for my wife. We were going to buy his and her Datejusts anyway, so the GMT BLNR was a nice bonus for me.

Waited about 6 months in 2020. Purchased a Z-Blue a year before that

A little over 2.5 years and 175k spend I was offered a sprite in lieu of a Pepsi. I passed since I already had a sprite that I got from a grey and it was implied I would not be getting the Pepsi or Panda if I accepted.

My first GMT was an 11 series BLNR in November ‘17 as a walk-in at my current AD. When the 12 series BLRO was announced in March ‘18 I was offered a spot on their list. They received their first in late May and I got mine 7 months later in December. So those two were my first spends with them, I have since received a black 116500 and two OP41’s.

The responses here lead me to believe I could get the BLNR as my next purchase. Picked up an OP last week. Hopeful

Speaking for myself would not spend extra to buy any watch, and if everyone stopped playing these so called AD games, and posting about it then perhaps we could get back to normality.

Bought my first ceramic in 2007 (I think it was). It was just sitting in the display case.

2.5 yrs ago I was put on the list.

Over the years I've bought several Tudor dive watches, 3 BB58s, P39, BB54, which have sold all, except for my monochrome, which I like way more than any of those, or a Sub (aluminum bezel, not a gloss dial.. just love the BB mono).

2 DJ41 and a 124270. All I love. It'd be hard to move any of them on.

I asked my AD again, a few days ago, about the GMT master. At first BLNR, but added a GRNR. The gloss dial and bezel are a thing I'm not sure of now. Since I don't travel, I'm starting to question why do I want one?

Bought my GF a 36mm YG DD during the height of the pandemic, waited a year for this actually. Then bought an Explorer for my son in May 2023, asked for BLNR and got it in Aug 2023.

Rolex AD purchase life is so much easier if like me, you happen not to particularly like the aesthetics of brightly coloured bezels.

Zero purchase history of anything, got the three references I really wanted all within 9 months. Very Happy punter

As far as GMT’s go, I do quite like the Zombie though. Never ever enough however to warrant spending money on other things in order to obtain it. That would be madness……

Waited 1.5 years for my batgirl and only purchase before that was a ND sub. This was the start of my relationship just before COVID.
