Icon20 Meteorite Daytona

I know that the meteorite daytona is a bit hard to get. Which variant is the hardest to get?

Daytona = hard

Precious metal = hard

Alien rock = hardest

Basically it’s very very hard to get any variation.

I like to mine the rock myself in space for the challenge!

But is it safe to wear a Rolex while doing that? Gasp!

I heard that the ones made with Campo del Cielo meteorite are the hardest to get as it is the rarest meteorite with highest stony-iron content.

The platinum one is hardest to get. Followed by titanium, then steel. Gold ones are most available.

I saw one in person at my AD. Yellow gold on oysterflex. Very nice! They only received one.

It depends how much are prepared to spend. If your funds are unlimited I'm sure you can buy any variant.

If you are talking about getting one from an AD at MRSP then you would have to have a very good relationship with them, probably a decent spend history, they would have to like you, the watch would have to land at a time when you were in the lead for the next allocation. All this along with a lot of luck and you may get one!

It's difficult to say which is the hardest, you could have a look at the usual pre owned sources and see which variant is least available, that may give you some idea.

Don't even dare to put your name on waiting list if you don't already have a GREAT relationship with your AD...

My AD reckons that the UK may see 1 Daytona Meteorite watch in 2022, they haven't seen one yet and have been told that if the company gets this one watch it will be the MD that decides who will get it.

Rare, isn't the word for this watch.

I really would like to own a Daytona someday since I raced the WERA National Challenge Series back in the mid-90s. Although the meteorite dial would be very cool since I worked at NASA LaRC years ago that solid gold Daytona with the bright green dial is the one for me.

Any suggestions on how hard it would be to find a solid gold/green one?

1 piece for the whole of UK or just the AD?
I think someone got one recently from the boutique in London.

I told my AD I had a better chance of hooking up with super hot twins in Los Angeles than getting one...
A few months later I was driving down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills calling my AD saying, You're not gonna believe this but...
