TWO-TONE TRADE UP - Bluesy, Root Beer, or Datejust?

You have the following hypothetical three-piece Rolex collection:

1. SS Submariner
2. SS GMT Master II Batman
3. SS Datejust

You must switch out ONE AND ONLY ONE piece for a two-tone version:

1. Switch out SS Sub for Bluesy
2. Switch out SS GMT for Root Beer
3. Switch out SS Datejust for TT Datejust

Only one switch out is allowed and no cop outs in the poll.

Please follow the rules and think twice before making silly comments or trolling.

Which one would you upgrade and why?

2 because wouldn’t want to trade in the SS sub and not in love with the TT datejust. Which sub and datejust do you have? Your collection is pretty great already!

I would say 2 or 3. You need a SS diver as your tool watch. I have the CHNR, the TT Daytona and the TT DJ 41. I would like to add the new bluesy or YG Sub. Let us know what you did.

Before buying my Batman I tried a CHNR and fell in love but went with the BLNR nonetheless. Both great pieces but if I had the choice again I think I’d go with the CHNR. #2!

I don't think a popular SS sports model to these two tones are upgrades. Especially the sub to a bluesy. If I had a gun to my head, I'd probably do the DJ and if not then the GMT (only if it isn't a Pepsi).

I suppose if I want to play I have to pick.. so I would go with the Bluesy I guess. Just because it looks nice and adds one of my favorite colors.

I am old school and very partial to two tone DJ. I think that's the classic Rolex everyone thinks of when they think of Rolex.

I would go with 3, because I wouldn't be able to do 1 or 2.

TT Bluesy is the KING of TT.

I dont think you can find a better looking watch than that.

Not a fan of the DateJust as it’s not really me, but I’m in a minority so hang on to that.

I prefer a Sea Dweller to a Submariner, so I could happily lose the Submariner. But...I had a 116613LB and sold it after a couple of months as it had too much going on for my liking.

I had a BLNR and it’s a nice watch, but I prefer the BLRO so I got rid. The CHNR - that’s different gravy.

So for me, one of the simplest questions ever posed. Bin out the BLNR and grab a CHNR - it’s a wonderful watch.

Go to two-tone datejust. It is so classic and dresses up with a suit or more formal wear. Sports models, even two-tone, are always very casual (in my humble opinion).

Not a fan of the Yoo-hoo brown GMT.
