Service estimate for 1675 GMT received
Just got my estimate from RWSC Dallas.

Black with plots Bracelet 78360 Case ser 1489XXX Caliber 1575GMT End Pieces 580 Links 5x7 Prior serv ref 210009XXX Prior ser inv date 3/2/01 ---------------------- Watch condition: Movement oils dry/gaskets worn Crystal scratched Bezel insert scratched Crown and tube worn Bezel worn Case and bracelet scratched Slow approx 15 sec a day per customer Notes: Dial is Superluminova Lumi dials will glow for approx 3-4 hours after exposure to light Please advise if it is not glowing this long after light exposure Service/Parts Factory movement service, acrylic crystal, gaskets..........$420 Water/Pressure-proof case..............$0 Refinish case and bracelet...............$0 1x Red&Blue insert with white numbers.....$51 1x Winding crown.......$24 1x Case tube.........$15 $510 plus $21.50 shipping = $531.50 Please allow approx 3 weeks to complete serv from the date we receive your authorization. In the unlikely event of loss or damage, your watch will be replaced with a current or similar Rolex model with an approx retail value of $5000 ------------------------------------------------ When I sent my GMT in I included a note about how the glow of my dial that was replaced in 1999, which still reads T<25, didn't have the zip it had when new and how I thought it might have been a transitional dial with just regular LumiNova. So that's what the comment is above in the note section. In a phone call she said that a new dial or hands would not glow any brighter than what I have. Guess I should hang on to the T<25 dial. Also they mentioned the bezel as being worn in the estimate but in talking to her they did not think it needed replaced. Finally she said they were all caught up from the holidays so the service should be fairly quick and mentioned it went in today for serivice. Can't wait to post some pictures. Geo |

Yes keep the dial, GMT will be back on your wrist soon, looking almost like she was when new,and a good price for service.

Sounds normal. Do keep the dial, they don't make those anymore!!
Dallas does great work. They've done a couple for me you'll be pleased. |

Hello,
Newbie question here....Is Dallas factory service preferable to NY ? I have a '90s vintage TT DJ in need of service & a dial change. Thank you for your help. |

I've never heard anything bad about NY, but I always here good things about Dallas. Personally, I've had them work on two watches. I'm lucky in that I've walked them in to Rolex (I worked next door at the time) and everyone was very nice and professional.
