ROLEX Ref. 1675 GMT Master Dial Variants
Err...kindly consider to have them listed as
possible candidates for the...Rolex Reference Library. These here are from Orchi's little study n understanding... of the 1675 GMT Master Matte Dial Variants... albeit still in its infancy stage...at the present moment... until hopefully...Orchi could understand them a little more later on... to be able to suggest any further updates subsequently... or as soon as possible... Thanking you in advance for your patience n support, Best regards Orchi. P/S: Other TRF's Fans of 1675 GMT Master Matte Dials...may also suggest...n contribute their relevant experiences or findings in this thread...TQ. Here is what Orchi believes to be the 1st Generation of 1675 GMT Master Matte Dial... Please let Orchi calls it as MK.1 Matte Dial...for now. Case series from around 1.6 mil until about Mid 2 mil or so... (Possibly...the Earliest Series could take the FAMED Mini Small Arrow 24hour GMT Hand) Perfect Example of MK.1 Matte Dial: With Case Ref# 2,011,xxx ... A.k.a "Bart Simpson" Coronet, Flatter Top, Longer & Slim 5 Arches, n Prominent "o" Coronet Base. (Latest Purchase from WBAW? LA + Original Cert) Perfect Example of MK.2 Matte Dial: (Case series from around Mid 2.5 mil to Early about 3.5 mil) (Possibly...this would take the illusive & RARE 24hour All RED GMT Hand) With Case Ref# 2,999,xxx ... A.k.a RAREST version of "French Venom Bleeding" Flat Base Coronet, "Bleeding" plots of "ROLEX"... (Latest Purchase from NBTimes of Hong Kong) Perfect Example of Another MK.2 Matte Dial: With Case Ref# 2,7xx,xxx Possible with All Black Bezel Insert Possible with the illusive 24hour All RED GMT Hand. RAREST n Excellent Example of MK.3 Matte Dial: (Case series from around Mid 3.5 mil to about 4.0 mil) A.k.a "RADIAL" or "MINI" Dial. (Orchi is short of this Matte Dial version...thought to be Very RARE) Picture is courtesy of Buddy Nicolas Abuaf of Argentina (ONE of Orchi's many favorite & BEST Sellers in VRF n eBay) Example of MK.4 Matte Dial: (Case series from around Early 5.0 mil to about Mid 6.0 mil) (Possibly...this would take the illusive & RARE 24hour All RED GMT Hand also) [IMG]http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee129/orchipalar/DSC04655.jpg/IMG] Example of MK.5 Matte Dial: (Case series from around Mid 6.0 mil to the End of Matte Dial Production by Rolex for 1675 GMT Master) ALL of the above Matte Dials of 1675 GMT Master... in the past ROLEX regular factory productions... have been discontinued by Rolex... with the SOLE exception of the following...perhaps. (in Orchi's humble novice opinions) Example of MK.6 Dial: (To be continued) Rolex Service Replacement Tritium Matte Dial... or Luminova Matte Dial... Further study n findings by Orchi...would be updated in a later stage...or as soon as possible. Thanks very much for watching... P/S: The above list of 5 main Matte Dial Variants from namely MK.1 to MK.5... (as per Orchi's humble suggestion)... ALL of which has OBVIOUS differences by comparisons between these 5 variants... 1. They each have the OBVIOUS yet distinctive individual Coronet style plots... 2. They each have the OBVIOUS yet distinctive individual OP/SCOC plots alignment... n to a certain degree...the thickness of fonts..n body of paint prints...are more or less different. NO 2 Variants from MK.1 to MK.5 main Matte Dial Variants could be seen as having close resemblances... |

Beautiful pictures!
Nice variations! What do you think about the date wheel variation (white and metal) on the 1675? |

Err buddies...thanks very much for generous support...n appreciation.
Hopefully...this novice reference of 1675 GMT Master Matte Dial variants... could be useful to the other novice collectors n newcomers to the Hobby... Nevertheless...here's an update to the novice reference which Orchi would like to improve upon...further. Beginning from this Example of MK.5 Matte Dial(?): (?Case series from around Mid 6.0 mil to the End of Matte Dial Production by Rolex for 1675 GMT Master by around 1980..?) Additional Example of MK.5 Matte Dial: (with cream Patina markers) Here is an Odd example of 1675 GMT Matte Dial... which Orchi assumes to be an Early Rolex Service Replacement Tritium Dial... that is NOT commonly seen...in Orchi's own novice experience...so far. Perhaps other VRF GMT buddies may be able to shed some light onto this unfamiliar Matte Dial variant...(lets call it Mk.X for the time being) It is very interesting to note that...this unfamiliar variant of 1675 Matte Dial... is however...very similar(besides having different Dial feet positions)... to the ones that is featured by its successor... the Rolex Ref 16750 GMT Master Matte Dial variant... with QuickSet Date Cal. 3075 movement... which was released by Rolex some time around 1980... by the end production of the Rolex Ref 1675 GMT Master... Here is the common Example of Rolex Service Replacement LUMINOVA Dial: Rolex Service Replacement Luminova Matte Dial marked with "SWISS" at 6 o'clock. With Case Series 4,46x,xxx ...Rolex Service Replacement. Further study n findings by Novice Orchi...would be posted in a later stage...or as soon as possible. Thanks very much for watching... Best regards Orchi. |

Hey all,
I'm the definition of Newbie, so I hope I am posting in the right spot... I got given a watch from my father which was bought by my grandfather in 1981. The pics above look like what I have - "Example of MK.4 Matte Dial". I have the box, receipt, hole punch guarentee... everything in pretty good condition. I ran into "Steve" on the street as he saw me carrying the box an recommended to jump on this forum. He concentrated on the sticker on the side of the box which says "167570/B". Can anyone provide me any information on this? Also, I haven't got it insured (as up until now I thought it was a copy), so where should I go to get it valued etc. I am live on the Gold Coast of Australia and work in Brisbane. Cheers |

Here's my 1,499,XXX 1675, date stamp inside caseback is II 66.
Currently at Rolex Service in SF getting an adjustment, cleaning and new band end tabs. All else (dial, hands, bezel and insert, riveted band) is original; case was polished once. Enjoy! Ron Last edited by rmay; 8 September 2009 at 02:13 PM.. Reason: add information |

Spacing in "ROLEX" text
Hello,
Firstly, kudos on the fantastic pics and information. I came to this thread as I'm curious about the "ROLEX" text seen in several 1675's offered today. Specifically, the spacing of the letters... seems to be uneven: "R O LE X". This is noticeably seen in Orchi's MKI matte dial and MKII dials in particular. The MKIII and MKIV dials have evenly spaced letters. I had seen MKI and MKII dial-type watches for sale and was concerned about their originality given the uneven spacing of the letters. I guess I shouldn't have that concern...? Thanks, d. |

Err buddy Dienstuhr...warm welcome to the TRF forum...!
Almost all early Plastic crystal Rolex watches with early Matte Dial... do have spaced out "R O L E X" plots... n some would even have irregular or inconsistent prints... Have no fear...as you can always counter-check with the many helpful forum members... here. |

IF you are using Firefox browser... you could try the following... So here it is... what Orchi has discovered to be the quick FIX to the problem... that Orchi wishes to share with the VRF Buddies here... or at the least with those that are using the Mozilla FIREFOX... At the FireFox browser... TYPE...........................: About:config PRESS Enter. When prompted, CLICK............: I would be careful, I promise Next Window would appear. In Field "Filter", TYPE........: network.http.sendRefererHeader FIND that Field at the bottom listing. RIGHT Click the Field, CLICK...: Modify On Next POP-UP, TYPE...........: 0 (instead of "2" as shown) CLICK..........................: OK CLOSE(X) the Window. NOTE: For those that has plenty of pics being hosted in PhotoBucket for FREE... or whenever your FIREFOX Browser fails to upload any pictures... IF you wish to...you could undertake the above measure... so as to prevent the same problem that Orchi had recently... even though...you may have not experienced it...just yet. IMPORTANT: TRY NOT TO BE TOO CURIOUS TO ATTEMPT MAKING OTHER CHANGES IN THOSE OTHER FIELDS found in the FIREFOX system... VOILA!!! ALL the pictures that were seemed to be "WIPE OUT" from the postings... in the relevant Forum...would be uploaded n "RE-APPEAR" again. NOT sure how that problem came about... but the above quick FIX has worked for Orchi... |
