Best All Around?

Anybody have any thoughts on a best all around watch? Since I've had my Bond GMT I've found myself appreciating it's varied capabilities. In one timepiece one can have a multi-timezone capability, rotating bezel, great lume, and classic looks.
All in a rugged package that goes with virtually any attire.

It is a very good all round watch

Mike

I aggree it is a very good all rounder. My only beef is that the bracelet seems to scratch very easily. (I found my Sub and Dweller bracelets were a lot more resiliant to scratching.)

Here is my GMT on a Speedy style bracelet. One scratch and a quick rub down with the scourer pad and it is as good as new.

Cheers Aaron

I like this one...both on the SS bracelet and rubber strap. On the rubber strap, it's quite the "tool watch" with the all satin finish. In 2 minutes, you can stick it on the SS bracelet and it dresses up quite well.

Agree, the bracelet and clasp seem to be a scratch magnet! I talked to my AD a while back, said he could get me a Blue Rubber strap.

Ever see one of these?

I've heard of a blue rubber strap, but never seen one. This black rubber one looks pretty good on my Bond SMP, too. I think the blue one is the "double ridge" rubber strap with deployment...comes in black, too.

I can't choose just one, because sometimes I have to wear a suit and I absolutely don't do "sport" watches or bracelet watches with a suit.

I guess for me the ideal combination would be a Rolex Yacht-Master and a JLC Master Control.

Don't think there is such a animal, as the best all round watch. What ever suits you
personally at the time of wearing.

I agree with Peter (Manatee). Even though I have said many times that the GMT-II is a great all around watch that you can dress up as well as down, I find that when I do wear a suit, I will tend to wear one of my TT DJs or my JLC RG Master Geographic. And for black tie, it is almost always the YG diamond dial DD.

Ed, that rose gold Master Geo is one of the most beautiful watches on Earth. (Says me.)

I agree with those that have said there isn't just one watch that fits the bill. It depends on the situation. For "sport" wear, it's my TT YM. For "dress" wear, it's my SS Master Moon. I always wear the MM with a suit (very rare thing, so I'm wearing it today with business casual attire). I don't think I would wear it rock climbing, though......
