Impressive turnaround by Dallas RSC!

They received my 16570 for service on 8/7. I approved the estimate on 8/8. Today, 8/16, service is complete and watch is ready to return to me.

Love this efficiency from them. By far, the fastest turnaround I've experienced from Dallas RSC.

I've always had good luck with Dallas. They have serviced both my sub and my wife's DJ (after a fall on to the tile) and did great work with both.

Yeah, I've had a great experience with Dallas RSC since I started sending them stuff in 1999. Always really good customer service.

I know! It's crazy. They quoted me 3 weeks on the estimate and I was surprised with that as I remember the days of 6-8 weeks or more. I was shocked (in a good way) to get their completion email today.

I was going to send in my sub for service.....is there a list of cost? I was going to compare vs using a local guy....

Complete overhaul (minus case/bracelet refinishing which I did not want)

Complete overhaul will run about $850 as long as no replacement parts are needed.

We had a great experience with Dallas recently. Sent my Explorer II and wife's OP 36. Both needed new crystals. Mine "no polish" request surprisingly resulted in a -$150 adjustment on my invoice. Hers looks like new. It was originally purchased from an estate jeweler at a discount because it was not in the best shape and uses it as a travel watch. It has seen a lot of rough use. Dallas also replaced all her bracelet screw on my request because a few were mangled at no charge! Will likely only use Dallas going forward.

It's been reported that Dallas and New York RSC no longer accept a watch for drop off to be serviced. I expect you will have to pay for shipment to and from Dallas.

Thats awesome. I opted to use my local AD and still don’t have my watch back after two MONTHS! They claimed it would be about three weeks. ARGH! I called them last Tuesday for an update and never got a call back. Now that’s service…

Dallas RSC was a 4 weeks turnaround prior to Covid so you should indeed be impressed.

Me too. Quote was $850 and then adjusted -$150 since I declined the case/bracelet refinish. Really happy with their service.

So forgive the dumb question but this is only my second experience sending in for service. I thought it was “safer” to have my AD send it in and deal with the RSC.

I take it you guys contact the RSC directly and send it in yourself? It seems the RSC is happy to deal directly with john-q-public?

I’m assuming you ship it insured and it’s return shipped insured?

As I said, sorry for the stupid question but I guess being inexperienced it just didn’t occur to me to bypass my dealer. I guess I’m going to be charged something extra using this route but I just assumed it would be safer to have them deal with the delivery and communication issues.

Absolutely best to send it to RSC yourself and cut out any AD nonsense. Email the RSC and ask them to send you a "mailing kit". They will ship you a box (at no cost to you) with literally everything that you need to package your watch and ship it to them. They include precise instructions in the mailing kit. You use USPS registered mail to send it to them and they will return it to you FedEx overnight.

I was told last month that they no longer send boxes, they send a form.

"Per your request, please find our Mailing Instructions attached. Please ship your timepiece to our Dallas Service Center at the following address. That's what you get by having the AD "help" you in the process. Involving an AD can only hurt you. No thank you. So much easier and efficient to just send it in yourself.

Like all RSC it depends on how busy they are when sending in for service had my SD serviced in Singapore many years ago took 4 days for full service.

I just got mine back last week from the Dallas service center. Full service, and they adjusted my clasp blades. No polishing. $850.
