A Submariner guy

Hello,

This forum for Rolex collectors is really great. I’ve gained a lot of excellent information about this area of collecting that really amazes me.
I purchased my first real watch (Rolex) last year at Ben Bridge Jewelers in Brea, CA. A colleague at work recommended this dealer after a bad experience with another jeweler in Dana Point. I opted to purchase the no date Sumbariner because the date function is unnecessary to me. The salesman in Dana Point told me,” You don’t want a no date watch. You want the Date Sub as it will be easier to sell later.” I don’t suffer that kind of sales approach so I went elsewhere. The salesperson at Ben Bridge was helpful in my inquiry and I went home very happy.
I have a small number of watches including my Granfather’s Ball Railroad watch, A Zodiac Seawolf that I purchased during Basic Training at Ft. Campbell, KY. I wore that for two tours in Vietnam and it runs fine today.
I’m happy I found your forum and look forward to participating here.
Thanks,
Larry S

Thanks Fred, That's a neat pic of the Rolex logo on the watch crystal. A buddy told me that my new Sub had one and I didn't believe it because I just couldn't see it. Eventually it was apparant.

Dave,
What is so unique about Rolex is the variety of models available. I prefer to be understated and Rolex does that. If a bloke wants flash he can find that too. They all have one thing in common and that's perfection in all of their offerings.
I'm really dig TRF.
Later Mate!
