Misalignment Chrono hand on Daytona 126518.. incoming BTW.
Hey guys. Picked up my watch last night. Still so thrilled. But Minor annoyance i noticed was the Chrono hand sit at 59.9s spot.
After whining the watch, cycling the hour hand a few rounds and resetting Chrono hand a few times. It's still sitting there. I read this is a common occurrence. My other Daytona is slightly misaligned but not as much as this one. Dial is aligned with the case. Bezel looks almost perfectly aligned. I'm almost tempted to have it sent in, but worried about they might scratch or ding it while they work on it and etc. the idea of opening the crystal kinda cringes me. Help me make up my mind please or convince me to live with it till service.

The 59 second marker is where the X is on the rehaut. Your second chrono hand is off by 1/300. I understand your concern but I wouldn't risk sending it in. I personally run my chrono had continuously since I prefer to see it sweep.

Looks like 59.9 to me. They can turn the dial a tad to make it right if it bothers you, but they are going to do more than "open the crystal" to get it right.
Congrats on the incoming. Beautiful watch. |

Yes it's missed by 1/300 of a S. I didn't know why I put 59s. I leave the Chrono running too. This is one of those things like once u see it. U can unsee. Quote:
Thanks man. I corrected it. It's at 59.9s. Rotating the dial will misalign the dial to the case. I think they remove the hand and reset it in place. My wife is already calling me crazy for even noticing it.

Hand needs taking of the hand stack and reset, but IMHO it's not worth the trouble as there will always be a tiny bit of hand slack.

Same with me, with mine picked up 2 weeks ago I noticed the same ever so slightly not aligned at that 12 o’clock position with every try every time. My opinion is nothing to worry. It’s just a Rolex quality control thing with the speed at which the Chrono hand goes back to the 12 o’clock. Enjoy the new watch

Ayt ayt. I'll listen to the people. Gonna just leave it alone. Still can't believe it yet. It's been a good year for Rolex collecting. Potentially getting my 1st AP as a royal oak from boutique too.

I would just leave it.
It’s hardly noticeable - and why risk a scratch when you got a perfectly beautiful watch. One day when it has scratches of your own making, and it needs service maybe…. Not now. I’d leave it! It’s a beautiful watch. I love the colour, well done! |

Both photos on this thread are not eloquent as they are not aligned with the chrono hand. They are clearly taken a bit from the right so obviously the chrono hand seems it is not sitting at the 0 mark.

Huge congratulations, beautiful Daytona OF. I have not even checked my new one?
I would not send it in for service, it’s a very minimal offset, unless it really bothers you. I think, this is common thing with Daytona’s. Some more? Some less? Keep it running or ignore it, wear it and enjoy it! Cheers, |
