Tudor 7909
Kind of always on the look out for a 'birth year'..or there abouts timepiece and stumbled upon this Tudor Small Rose 7909. Looks like its the watch only, no strap or bracelet. Message has been sent to seller for more info and pics if available. - He just replied saying it's 'Watch only'.. No strap or bracelet.
Looking for more pics, inside, case back, etc... Wondering what you guys may think about this piece. ? TIA

This should be produced in 50s and dial is radium. Can ask seller to take UV shot and the plot should light up immediately and faded at the same rate.
I wonder if the crown and bezel 18k gold? Usually they are stainless steel. The 50s small rose Tudor is hidden gem and look beautiful in person if you have chance to handle one. I love them lots Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Based on the 2 pics posted, it appears to be that the crown and bezel are 'gold'ish in hue..but that could be coz of reflection of the picture. I'll be asking more questions. It does look like a nice piece, ya think??

The dial design is simple and clean, case is slim and reasonable size, definitely nice choice if you like the simple watch. Tudor does not produce watch as beautiful as this vintage anymore. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

A very nice 7909. Serial dates it to mid 50's , 34 mm case and 19mm strap width. I've seen the same ad as you and suggest you ask for a few more pics, maybe one of the crown and if possible one of the inside of the movement. The seller needs to give more about the wath in question and less about comparing to Chrono24 ad for a totall different watch. A copy of the recent service receipt might be a good idea too!

He did attach a receipt for the repairs done, by 'Independent Goldsmith' on W12th in YVR, ( haven't been to them b4). The repairs included 'Movement Cleaning, Overhaul and apparently a new crystal as he states. No pics of the inside/movement. Have to presume the shop is up to par. On the fence on this one. Not like I have money to burn, tho it's temping. Looking at other possibilities, for 1952...just b'coz..!

Dial is fine not sure about bezel and crown.
Very few are outright midcase and caseback fakes as no money for crim’s, in tooling for 34mm 7*** Tudors. Likewise calibre nearly always ok same reason. Repainted dials, fake hands and aftermarket crowns and bezels the main issues. There are two distinct optics vis sizes in ‘how they wear’ based on case profile and bezel widths. Some wear like a 33mm and some like a 35mm especially some of the OysterDate 34 with rare 20mm lug width that wears almost like a Rolex 1601/1603 I have bought a few of these 34mm Tudors over the years and many make just £500-600 manual and £100-200 more for an auto and then oyster thin, elegante, waffle, honeycombed, cross hair, Paris hobnail, weave, tuxedo etc another £100 or so. They are so much more interesting than a 6964/6426 Rolex…. and a third of price. My fave is Tuxedo.
