Just got my 1665 MkII back
Phillip Ridley did an amazing job on the watch, great guy and extremely knowledgeable, I wouldnt hesitate to send him any vintage Rolex, matter of fact he's currently servicing one of my modern watches the DJII I was wearing when I went to pick up the 1665! I'd post pics but I cant figure out how to size them so the forum will accept them.

I don't have any modern watches, so I'm probably not aware of all the pros and cons, but I'm curious why you chose to have your modern DJ serviced by an independent. Is it faster? Less expensive? IIRC, Rolex provides a 2-year warranty, which is hard to beat.

Would love to see some pics, select the smallest file size when importing them.
Phillip has always done a great job with my vintage watches. |

Dan, its a 2009 DJII that needed a cleanup not really a full service and yes Phillip is less expensive than my AD but thats not why I had him do it, Justin I have tried a number of times and the smallest my Iphone allows is too much for the site - at least I havnt figured out a way - maybe Phillip will see this thread and post some.

Sure, here you go, AJ. I did have to rotate a couple to adjust the size.

Yep Phillip did an amazing job and though not all original (what is after 56 yrs) it is mostly all correct - most importantly the dial is untouched and the case/caseback match and are stamped 11/67 sn 1.7XXXm- so its a legit MKII not some later SD that someone slapped a MKII dial in. Very VERY happy with it and its even more beautiful in person.
Thanks Phillip! |
