An Impressive 47:47 !!

Hi guys,

Put my new YM on the Power Reserve "test bench" and it did come up with pretty amazing results.

From start to finish (after 40 turns of the crown), the watch came to a halt after 47 hours and 47 minutes - almost two trips for the Mercedes hand around the clock!!

All well and good, JJ, but did you ever bench test the weight of your YM against the chart at http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...highlight=gram

Wait, I wanted to know the seconds too, darn it. Start over and let me know what you find out.

Most of todays watches have a power reserve of 40 -48 hours from the
humble Miyota to the mighty Rolex.

I love the stuff I learn hanging around watch forums - Today I learned that, when it comes to power reserve, 48 hours is "pretty amazing" (&/or impressive), 51 hours is "whopping", and apparently the YM has a mercedes hand hand with a GMT function that I was previously unaware of.

Thanks JJ

Hi Mink,

Sorry, make that 4 rounds of the hour hand in a space of 48 hours!! Besides, you've got just 10 posts on the board. Perhaps, you would like to make some more contributions and enlighten us? Thanks.

Sorry Ed,

Maybe I'm a bit slow this morning, but I don't quite get it. I've already mentioned the weight of my YM in that link you gave me so what else is there to know?

The longer PR might in part be attributed to it's slower cadence of 3.5Hz. It's cycling 3600 times less per hour than a modern Rolex.

OTOH...it may just have a longer mainspring.

Found this place quite by accident...was researching a Rolex issue on line and saw (believe it or not) JJ's name pop up..

Nice forum; A lot of familiar names (and faces) - names and faces that I've (truly) missed.

Hey Dave,

Great to have you aboard. You're right, the new OMEGA Planet Ocean is fitted with the 2500C Co-axial movement which goes at 7 bps (25,200 A/hr.) resulting in the improved power reserve capacity.

Cheers - JJ

Welcome to TRF, Dave. Good to see you here. Hope you'll stick around and add your wealth of knowledge to this place. Don't mind Adrian. He wouldn't know sense if it bit him on the you-know-what.

Well, I figured Dave already knows JJ is a total wacko. But Adrian used to be a bit more sensible. His true nature has come out on TRF, and for those who knew him before, it might be a bit of a shock to see him now.
