You can only have one
Interested to know the poll results here.
Just looking for a change and NOT spend more $ on watches. Thinking of selling my: - Daytona white dial 116500LN (AD purchase) - Submariner 126610LV (AD purchase) FOR - Submariner 126619LB (Grey market) - Cash back to me ~$3K - $4K Yes the Daytona is iconic, etc. |

I own both of the watches you’re thinking about letting go of. Both from my AD as well. There is absolutely no way I would let go of those two for the PM sub.
You can realistically get the white gold sub whenever you want from your AD..they’re not hard to come by…especially since you got a daytona and an Lv from them which shows you’re a good client. Another SS daytona will be very, very hard to come by at retail. Also your two Ss watches are both nicer and way more desirable than that white gold sub….Just my opinion and also the market’s opinion as well since the Wg sub is going below retail on the secondary Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No. Definitely not. I have the black dial SS Daytona and the Cermit. There's no way I'm trading those for a WG sub.

Let the WG Sub be something you work towards acquiring when you're comfortable doing so, but it won't be good enough as a one and only.

I would not do that trade, unless I desperately needed that extra .cash.

If you want the LB that bad I’d go Daytona straight up for the Sub and maybe add a few thousand or trade the LV and even more thousands
It’s not enough cash back your way as described

While I would personally gladly spend the grey market price (or hell, even MSRP) for the blue WG sub, and would personally buy it over either the LV or the Daytona for my collection, there’s no way I’d trade those two watches acquired at retail for one. If you want a change, look at smaller independent brands. Put the sub and the Daytona in the safe (you’ll thank me in 20 years) and if funds for new watches are short get a Christopher Ward or something similar. Lots of great watches out there that aren’t expensive. That way if you get the itch to go back to Rolex you have two of the hardest-to-get references ready and waiting.
And if you don’t want to go back to Rolex, the Daytona especially (assuming it’s in great shape) will probably out-perform many other investments to over the same time period. |

I don’t know grey values but for me one gold Sub > two SS. Not even close.
Once you wear a PM daily it is hard to back to SS so they will become obsolete anyway, just my 2C

As a lover of gold, no way.
Add a Bluesy to that mix for a splash of color. |

Nope, I personally do not understand the desire for white gold watches. IMO, the pair you have are very useable icons that will always be relevant.

OMG, no way.
I would 1,000% rather own that Daytona and Sub LV pair than only the current WG Sub. You would be giving up so much diversity and a fantastic duo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Rolex retail prices would suggest that’s a good trade.
Market prices would suggest that’s an awful trade. On this occasion, I think the market is correct and no way I’d swap two great watches for one. |

Definitely do the trade imo
I would much rather have one “best” precious metal watch than two stainless steel pieces that just don’t feel special

No way. The blue gold sub is a beauty but no way i would trade a daytona into it, especially one acquired at AD, makes it even more special.

If possible, add the WG Sub and see if you actually prefer it the the LVC … you might, or you might not.

Personally I'd do that trade for a 116619LB, but not a 126619LB.
I'm not a fan of either the 116500 (especially the white dial) or the 126610LV (or the 126619LB), but I AM a huge fan of the 116619LB. But if you're set on the 126619LB, then I'd say don't do the trade. On that basis, I voted no.

You are definitely getting the bad end of the deal at current market prices. The Daytona and white gold sub are only 4-6k apart.

I would put that WG Sub behind the other two, so, that’s a definite “no” from me.
Current vote: 7 for, 80 against. |
