Kermit waiting time

I spoke to my AD in Vienna Austria and he told me that the Kermit would take 5 years to come. I put my name down for it. I am here on a holiday in Thailand and the AD here told me I could get it in 2-3 years time. I genuinely feel like my actual AD doesn’t like me and wanted to put me off with the 5 year line. How long should a Kermit take? Plus does it matter if you put your name down in a different country with a different AD? Cause 5 years is a very long time to wait for a watch

First, it comes down to the size of the AD. They all don’t get the same number of watches. There could be more in demand watches going to larger AD. Both AD gave you a guess. Doesn’t mean it won’t come it sooner or later. I think they are trying to set expectations. But that it not a guarantee. Some dealers seem to take deposits. Maybe inquire about that and see how that goes. Hopefully you will get responses from members in those countries.

Varies with every AD. 5 years does sound like they’re putting you off.
You can inquire with as many ADs as you’d like and get all different answers.
I hardly waited at all but I have a great AD that I’ve been using for years and a big purchase history.

As a percentage of subs that come in the LV is the smallest percentage and in very high demand. Depending on the size of the AD at minimum they might get a handful of those a year. I wouldn’t take his comments to not liking you just maybe he’s being realistic. Good luck!

Kermit waiting time

if your AD tells you 5 years, im sorry to break it to you but this is generally not a very good sign.

in other words they’re basically saying you aren’t getting one

I’d say that’s a pit off.

If you have the option to shop some different ADs, I’d try elsewhere. Good luck, it s a great reference

I think we grossly underestimate how much demand there is for Rolex. About a year and half ago when my AD asked me for my three watch wish list he said don’t bother asking for a Daytona, blue Sky and the Kermit. That’s how in demand they are and how many people are ahead of me. Now, unless you are a whale or have a very long history and friendship with your AD it will take years.

every AD and location are different because of size, wealth, and clientele

few weeks, few months, 1 year, 2-3 years, 5 years, 10 years, or longer....

it's all over the place.

That’s a major brush off, find a new AD. I have a great AD in a major U.S. city, so this may not be apples to apples, but mine took 2 weeks. Obv not the norm, but that does show that 5 years is a total bs response.

Facts. My SA told me he is going to get me an LV fairly quick as he delivered me my BLRO.

6 months to 1+ years, depending on the location.

Your AD probably has a good idea on how many they get per year, and how many VIPs are requesting this reference, and unfortunately it’s going to be 5+ years before they can even think about you.

Or, they don’t want to get you the watch…

In either case, if you really want it, start working with other ADs, or go secondary market. Of all the hype references, the cost on the 126610LV in comparison to its scarcity, the price isn’t that bad Imo.

That’s the “lose our number” AD response.

Reminds me of when I ask how long the wait is for the next table and I'm told "at least 3 hours".

5 is too long …
Can get an AP or Patek for under 5 years and worth 5x more. Kermit 5 year wait… might as well buy on 2nd hand market tbh

Maybe if you were to tell him that you used to read Word Up! magazine, then it’ll be shortened to 2-3 years wait.

Your AD is telling you to beat it.
Thing is, most ADs have enough preferred clients to sell every Kermit for the foreseeable future.

That’s what I thought too. So basically if I put in an order with a different AD it won’t be an issue or?

No issue. Worse case scenario, you end up with two, but sounds highly unlikely given the 5-year timeline.
